Beautiful Location, Friendly Staff, Fun Activities
Wonderful beach front resort to visit. The restaurants had great food, the pools were clean, and many different activities to stay busy. The activities staff were incredibly friendly, shout out to Arbey Lopez for great charisma! I would recommend to anyone looking for an awesome resort on Cozumel.

Run away as fast as you can .
1 star resort. Public washrooms filthy and most not working, breakfast buffets filthy as well. Room was marginally ok but bathroom was covered in mold and ceiling was caving in. Restaurant food was good for the most part. Waiters and waitresses were friendly. Preferred club staff were inattentive and rude

Long way to travel for such a big let down
The property was very different than the photos. The room had a large volume of mold and the shower flooded after 2 min. The main dishes were served COLD so a huge disappointment. I have stayed at many all inclusive hotels and this was not worthy of being a destination resort. One of the pools is directly adjacent to the lobby. There was a large amount of upselling but no value to it

An oldie, but a goodie
We love this resort! We had a great time, and have traveled to this resort three or four years in a row. The food is good, the staff is so friendly, the beach is great, however the facility is showing its age. I hope to see them do some renovations in the near future, or we may have to look for a new favorite spot. They did seem a little under staffed this time. It is an adults only facility, but I don't know if it was made clear to the sister resorts that kids are not allowed on the secret's portion of the beach. Don't get me wrong we love the Cozumel community, and we really did enjoy the trip.

Excellent relaxing vacay option for those with realistic expectations!!
Travelled: November 2024 This was a “couples trip” ($2100CDN/pp for Preferred Swim out Oceanview). Travelled direct with Air Canada – no issues. We were preferred guests so review will not apply to everyone! Recommend the preferred status, most who didn’t have it complained bitterly. ROOMS: We stayed in a ground floor ocean view swim out room (building 12). We arrived later in the evening so resort was dark and although small, VERY confusing to navigate. No paper info upon arrival, all “Hyatt app” driven – online maps were somewhat helpful but do not show the maze of pathways! We had a “preferred club” room, but there are NO swim out rooms in actual preferred club area. Short walk into preferred area from our building. Oceanview was meh. Standing on our patio ocean was certainly visible but some might expect more, we didn’t. Our room was large. It had a large king bed, large chaise sofa with coffee table, small eating table area with 2 chairs, bedside tables, double door decent sized closet with a shelf and ample hanging space, safe, writing desk area and a large console table under flat screen tv. However, there is NO dresser or drawer space whatsoever for clothing – made for a ‘messy room” week. Large ceiling fan in room helped keep room cold, often too cold! We had a nice large patio with 2 chairs, table and sunbed directly on “lazy river” pool. So do expect people floating by! Bathroom was decent sized walk in shower plus a jacuzzi tub (never used it once), single sink bowl area with lots of space and a water closet. Room was absolutely adequate – a solid 3-4star standard which we paid for and expected. Toiletries included shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap – we bring our own. Hairdryer, scale and makeup mirror in bathroom. Coffee maker & supplies in room, never used it. Did not find the room noisy and never had trouble sleeping. Bed was very comfy for a “resort bed” with added mattress topper and large pillows. We had no issues with hot water/pressure or a/c at all. Room was well cleaned every day and mini fridge restocked plus snacks (pringles and chocolate covered peanuts) daily. RESTAURANTS & BARS: Best part of this resort for us was the food! There is one buffet and three a la carte on site, if you are a “preferred guest” you have access to all neighbouring Dreams resort restaurants as well. Unlimited a la cartes with no reservations required was nice! We never went to the buffet once for any meal. Oceana (open for preferred only) or room service were amazing breakfasts (eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, fruits galore, eggs benedict, etc). Lunch we ate at Oceana most every day (fish tacos, fajitas, al pastor tacos, burgers, etc). Ordered poolside lunch once (wings and quesadillas) from Barefoot grill and tried room service lunch once also – again zero complaints. Food was above average! We did two supper meals at Bordeaux (amazing cordon bleu and mahi mahi stands out), once at Oceana and the rest at Windows (OMG the chicken fettuccini alfredo or chicken parm) or room service. If you are a fussy eater (we are not) there are loads of “Americanized” options. Bar service was meh – even if tipping, we rarely saw servers poolside – definitely short staffed. This seemed apparent everywhere on the resort (lack of restaurant servers, landscapers, etc)! We are capable of getting our own drinks, no biggie. Drink quality was hit and miss, also no bar menu. I know other reviews seem to complain of watered down drinks. No idea. Often times I found them to have so much alcohol they were barely drinkable. They do have some premium brands available (like Smirnoff & Barcardi) at preferred area. Only Canadian rye was CC – no Crown sadly. We changed drinks a lot throughout the week trying to find something tolerable (margaritas, daquiris, fresca/vodka, CC & diet were most popular) – beer available in cans, no draft. Preferred guests have a private lounge area which offers private bar and various foods throughout day (breakie, lunch, snacks, pub food). There is a pool table and seating nice for quiet after supper evenings. BEACH/POOLS/GROUNDS: Grounds are clean, tiles/floors can be slippery when wet. The resort is definitely showing signs of its age but this did not affect our enjoyment at all of just being there to RELAX. We spent our time mostly at the preferred club pool or our private swim out area. Beach umbrellas & poolside chairs were being “towel reserved” by 8am with no one using them for hours – typical resort behavior sadly. We did not however have an issue getting chairs poolside at 9-10am. Towels!! Well, we brought our own, however towels on resort were very scarce – mostly because people take more than they should! Beach is nice walkable sand and water entrance is rocky – most definitely bring water shoes. There are some hammocks available in the water but they were not hung out the entire week we were there. Preferred area has much nicer comfy beach lounge chairs we found. We brought our snorkel gear but never used it. Some people were snorkeling. We found the water quite murky and rough whenever we thought about it during morning/daytime due to the non-stop boat traffic going by. The grounds are very lush and tropical. Not being maintained as well as it should be. Again, seemed like a short-staffing issue. ACTIVITIES ON & OFF RESORT/HOTEL: This resort suited us perfectly with minimal late night activities and noise. There was a fire show, karaoke and small bands a couple nights that we saw. Nothing went past 10pm. During day there were activities around various pools – only saw aerobics, volleyball & trivia. Really more of a laid back vibe, if you need or desire constant entertainment this is NOT the place for you! Small activity team are a lively fun bunch that does ask people to participate but they did not pester. Other Comments: We got off lucky from the “time share people”. We are very well seasoned travellers, and know full well they can be very annoying at some resorts! We literally saw them first day and after refusing to participate never saw them again (maybe cause this is a US resort and we are not American, not sure). They offer hundreds of coupons available to use but the catch (yes of course there is one) is that the coupons come in small dominations and can only be used one at a time on any given service. $20 coupon off a $400USD couple massage is meh. Staff always helpful, pleasant and accommodating throughout resort & preferred lounge (special thanks to Karol who was alwasy most helpful)! Our Air Canada tour rep was on site daily, helpful and easy to deal with. I used the gym 6 of days we were there. Clean, well stocked with water, towels, fruit and juice. It appeared a good mix of equipment but I am not really a "gym goer". I am an injured ultra trail runner so don’t normally step foot in a commercial gym, however biking is currently my only option and it was good to have access to a recumbent bike. Internet is available free all over the resort, appears no limits on devices and had no issues with connectivity. We did use the “Hyatt app“ as the staff recommended to find out what and when restaurants were open or what services were available. I don’t think the app is kept up to date as much as could be. Times were off some days and menus had more options in the actual restaurant than shown on the app. Would we recommend the resort??? Yes, sure. You need to have realistic expectations!! This is NOT a 4-5 star resort. If you want great food, relaxed atmosphere, small resort layout and maybe dated simple room/resort finishes, this is a great option. We would certainly go back in future, preferred status only.
