Perfect relaxing Getaway!
Relaxing and beautiful resort with outstanding staff. We were in an oceanfront swimout room that was perfect. Rooms are nicely updated. This room came with a 'butler', which we had never experienced. Our butler, Sophia, was wonderful. She checked on us multiple times a day. She got a flower vase and put my flowers in it. She delivered items to our room and made sure we were taken care of. Grace from UVC was also very helpful even though we declined her offer to visit another resort (we did not wish to upgrade our plan). Breakfast buffet was very good, sushi great, and Italian also good. We did not try room service. Drink service at the pool was top notch. I do NOT like all the coatis on the property as they are too bold. We enjoyed water aerobics at noon each day. Lobby music in the evening was nice. Both the Social bar ( the one in the lobby) and the sports bar were excellent. The beach here is very walkable. I do think this resort is ready for some updated pool chairs! Very chill, relaxed vibe here.

Lovely but not enough pool seating
There's a lot to love about this hotel, down to the fineness of the beach's sand. Food and drink are good to great. Most of the people who work there from check in to waiters are very friendly and helpful. The guest rooms are well designed. It seems almost unfair that my biggest complaint has to do with the guests, but the hotel needs to come up with a better system. I'm not the first to report that if you're not at the pool by 8:30 you won't get a chair. And that's not because people are sitting in the chairs. People go down to reserve their chairs with towels/bottles/books etc. And then they don't occupy those chairs for many hours. The hotel needs a better system. Or more chairs--there's plenty of room for those. We were happy in the chairs we were able to find, at the far end of the beach. But at the current time, if those are the seats you end up in (because you're not out until after 8:30), there's construction next door. So it's kind of noisy. When I think of what we paid and the fact that we literally couldn't sit at the pool, I'm not sure I'd return. But we still had a great time. Note: I was told that the hotel was at 95% capacity. It was my second time there, and I did not have any of those problems on my first visit. So it's probably fine when it's not peak season.

Needs improvements
Having read the mixed reviews prior to our holiday, we went with an open mind. The hotel was clean and the staff are friendly and they all work very hard. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a couple of issues with housekeeping but nothing major and problems were quickly resolved. We had a couple of rainy nights so would advise bringing in the cushions from the balcony at night time so they don’t get wet and not useable. We didn’t understand why some restaurants were closed on certain days, with the hotel being 95% full, some evenings we had to wait til 9pm for a table. When we were seated, there were empty tables which could have been used but as staff are expected to clear tables, make them up and take orders, this meant tables weren’t available so people were having to wait. More staff are needed in restaurants to do specific jobs so these tables can be used. We enjoyed the food, we ate at the beach bar for lunch and in the evening at Tempest and Capri, the food was good. We went to the sports bar ‘Legends’ after dinner or when we were waiting for a table, service was good. The Rock show was really good, we watched it twice! We found the live entertainment was limited and if you weren’t down having to wait til 9pm for a table in the restaurants, you could make it to the entertainment that was on. We saw the iguanas and coaties around the hotel grounds but they never bothered us. Unfortunately someone on the beach decided to feed them one day and all of a sudden there was about 6 coaties - do people not realise the hotel tell you not to feed them for this reason!!! We were very impressed with the way the beach was kept clear of seaweed, it was a lovely beach with powdery white sand. We were very disappointed with the state of the sun beds on the beach, quite a few needed repair. If you weren’t down the beach by 7.30am, you had no chance of getting a sun bed. As we like to go to the beach, we had to get up at this time to get a sunbed. Even arriving at this time, we found beds already taken with a towel and maybe a book, but the people then never turned up until the afternoon, one day, someone had done this and still hadn’t arrived by the time we left at 5pm! Would we return?……Unfortunately not. We don’t particularly want to wait until 9/9.30pm to eat and this problem won’t be solved when the hotel is full and they decide to keep the restaurants closed on a rota basis. Unfortunately some people think it’s totally acceptable to talk very loudly, that is fine but what I don’t expect to hear is expletive language and people swearing at the top of their voices when I’m trying to read/relax on the beach. I have no problem people having fun and enjoying themselves but when it involves really loud bad language, it’s not what I wish to hear on my holiday.

Great All Inclusive for Grown Ups
I've had many all inclusive experiences. This was the best. Resort is not too large, and whole fun, did not have the insane party vibe of Cancun hotel zone resorts. Terrific beach, friendly and attentive staff. Our butler Claire was a particular highlight, but really all the staff was great. Will absolutely visit this resort again

Nice experience for a long weekend.
This was the first time we stayed at an all inclusive resort (generally book a hotel or apt rental and find our own restaurants), but since this was our first time in Mexico, we don't speak Spanish or know the region, we opted for the all inclusive. The beach and pool were nice, the room was nice (but smelled very musty due to high humidity). Social bar and the pool bar were great - good cocktails made by bartenders. I do not recommend the sports bar except for beer. All cocktails (mojito, margarita) were terrible. Breakfast at the buffet was good (large variety of food, many healthy options, made to order omelets), but we did not like the quality of dinner food there. Many items tasted like a school cafeteria. Capri restaurant was very good. Note: they have an "Asian" restaurant that serves ala carte dinner, and has a teppanyaki bar and a sushi bar, but both of those require reservations. We tried to make reservations when we arrived Friday afternoon, but there was no availability except for 9 or 10pm and neither are not open on Mondays. The sushi bar menu is pretty limited as well. Lola restaurant (covered roof) by the pool was okay, but we recommend staying away from the ceviches as they were not prepared well and the tuna smelled like ammonia). There is a buffet by the pool for lunch, but it was fairly heavy fare (pasta salad, meats, some fried options). Everyone working at the resort that we encountered was very nice and helpful. The cafe was wonderful for coffee/tea/specialty coffee beverages and take-away breakfast/pastry and prepared treat.
