Secrets Maroma – A Luxurious and Worthwhile Escape
From March 18-25, 2025, we had the pleasure of staying at Secrets Maroma in Mexico, and let me start by saying—this is the nicest resort we have ever stayed at. The big question: Do you get what you pay for? The short answer: Absolutely. The Little Things Matter What truly sets this resort apart are the small, thoughtful touches. The ice cream cart, fruit cart, wood-fired pizza, and daily lunch grilled by the pool add a level of convenience and indulgence that make lounging by the beach or pool even better. The variety of activities is also impressive, and while we are more of the “sit by the pool and do nothing” type, we appreciated the friendly invitations to join in without any pressure. The guacamole-making class and Spanish lesson were both fun and worthwhile experiences. Service & Atmosphere The service was phenomenal—every staff member genuinely wanted to take care of us. One standout feature that we haven’t experienced at other resorts was the twice-daily room cleaning. In addition to standard housekeeping, the resort provides a nightly turndown service, which we didn’t think we needed but ended up loving. Coming back after dinner to a refreshed room, neatly made bed, and little thoughtful touches made the stay feel even more luxurious. Food & Drinks Let’s be real—if you’re expecting Michelin-starred, NYC-level dining, this might not be it. But for an all-inclusive, the food was top-notch. Every meal was enjoyable, with plenty of variety. The daily grilled lunch by the pool was a fantastic touch, offering fresh, flavorful options without having to leave the sun and relaxation. One of our favorite perks? Being able to order food anywhere by the pool or beach. Usually, we’re used to being able to order drinks, but something about having freshly cooked French fries delivered right to our beach chair was just next-level. The drinks were also great—if you like sweet and coconut flavors, I highly recommend the Scooby Doo shot (YUM). I’m a big fan of espresso martinis, and while they were hit or miss, they were still enjoyable. The (Minor) Downsides & A Possible Solution The one issue that stood out: pool chair availability. Chairs get taken early—no big deal for early risers like me, but for those who like to sleep in, it’s a major downside. The resort could definitely benefit from more pool space. One idea? Expanding the pool closest to the beach. This would create a win-win situation—with pool views on one side and beach views on the other, it would give guests the best of both worlds. Plus, on days when sargassum (seaweed) is heavy, guests could still enjoy the ocean breeze and stunning scenery without the worry of swimming in the sea. Final Thoughts At the end of the day, everyone vacations differently, and this is just my opinion—so no offense meant! That said, Secrets Maroma is the best resort we have stayed at, and we will absolutely be back. If you’re looking for a high-end, relaxing getaway with excellent service, great food, and a beautiful setting, this is the place to be.

Paradise, Maroma Beach
Welcome to Paradise! This was our second trip to Secrets Maroma Beach. It was everything we remembered and more starting with MIGUEL V. Concierge Building 16. Miguel was absolutely fantastic for setting up our day answering all our questions and making sure that my wife and I had the best time of our life. Bernice was amazing. She was only a text away and she made everything happen. The fit and finish of the property is superb. Every employee. Absolute outstanding service
We went with two other couples for a relaxing week. The service was outstanding along with the food wherever you went. The resort was clean and very well kept. A shout out to our concierge Roger. We had lost a wallet and thought it was gone. He insisted that he help us find it. Sure enough he found it as it was left at the spa. All the credit cards and cash were still left in the wallet. We would definitely return

Great stay with a few issues
Visited for 10 nights mid March 25. Beautiful hotel and grounds, staff absolutely amazing, food was nearly always fantastic with only two instances where it wasn’t up to scratch. We traveled as a couple who were looking for a really relaxing holiday. The problem with the pool area is that it has a bit of a party atmosphere. That will obviously suit some people but wasn’t what we were looking for. The music played through the speaker system started out low but by midday, it really got loud. To avoid the noise, the only place to sit was opposite the payed for cabanas where there were no speakers. There were also large groups of Americans on company trips who on a few occasions were really obnoxious with little thought for fellow guests. By mid afternoon, they were usually extremely drunk, extremely loud, swearing, smoking in the pool and basically behaving like kids. Although I’ve listed quite a few negatives, this didn’t happen every day and on the whole it was a great holiday. Just be aware that this resort does attract corporate groups that don’t always behave appropriately.

Great once again
We have just returned from a ten night stay at Secrets Maroma. This was our second vist, the first two yeaqrs ago in June. Once again the staff are the star of the show. We found the the food, especially at breakfast and lunch was great. Lots to choose from. There is a theme everyday for outside dining and the effort that goes into this is amazing. The entertainment staff are so friendly and it looks like they really enjoy what they are doing. The beach is gorgeous and the workers work very hard to clear the seaweed, which there actually wasn't much of at all. The gardens are beautiful and a big shout out to all the gardeners that work in the heat to make our surroundings heavenly. As I have said the staff are really what makes this place. We did see a few friendly faces from our last visit. Rene you are a star. Pool and beach waiter. As is Alberto who kept us topped up with beer and prosecco. Roberto & Freddy in the buffet restaurant. Always a pleasure as is all the buffet staff waiters & chefs. All the preferred Club beach lounge staff were fantastic,as was Mauricio and Miguel pool concierge. Thank you to Elmer & chef Franseco who made me a lovely birthday special evening dinner at the Asian restaurant on our last night. Last but not least the star of the show Miguel, Block 16 concierge. Thank you so much for making my birthday very special and the surprise late check out. So very much appriated. We may return soon hopefully.
