Safe and well
As newbies to a vacation in Mexico it is fair to say that safety and not getting sick were among our prime concerns. We needn’t have worried. Access to and from the resort complex is tightly managed and choreographed. First tick. The food was good and we felt no likelihood of getting sick. Tick two. It wasn’t fine dining yet that’s not what we expected anyway. It’s good enough. We understand tailoring the menus to the clientele, however we would have liked to sample more Mexican food rather than Italian, French or Japanese restaurants. Whole adults only vacation, unplugged, was everything we wanted it to be. Fair to comment that the resort is now starting to show a degree of wear and tear. A complete renovation is planned to start April 16, 2025 until Christmas. Staff at the resort were friendly and polite with amazing English. Look forward to another vacation in Mexico. Final shoutout to Kalido travel who provided our transfers between the airport and resort, and back again.

Awesome!!
Everyone was great, food was awesome and entertainment spot on. I especially appreciated the pool concierge named Jaime Lagunas who was extremely helpful to both myself and my wife during our stay, he went out of his way to help in any way he could.

Hyatt/Secrets cancelled our reservation and made no reasonable attempt at resolution.
Had a confirmed reservation for a Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front Private Pool room and received a call days before departure stating the resort could not honor the reservation. At this point Hyatt/Secrets has made little effort to make it right, offering other rooms and resort options at prices above the current online rates. When I offered a solution (a comparable room at a sister resort down the road), I was given a quote for thousands more than what I already spent and was told they could not give any discounts (even considering the predicament Hyatt has put us in). I have placed three calls and sent two emails with no reasonable attempt at resolution by Secrets/Hyatt.

Not too hot in December!
This is an ideal location for extended families to go on vacation together! Couples without children can stay at Secrets and venture to Dreams when visiting the rest of the family. The beaches in Playa Mujeres are the best in all of Cancun except Play Norte on the island. Beach walkers will love this location as you can walk as far as your legs can take you! Great service and beautiful colors in the ocean! This was our second time here and we will definitely be back. If you are looking for an off-resort experience and adventurous enough to do it yourself, take a cab to Puerto Juarez and ride the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Once there, you can walk Playa Norte (a top 10 beach in the world) or rent a golf cart to explore the whole island. Highly recommended!

Great Service, Beautiful Resort, but Food Could Be Better
We recently stayed at Secrets Playa Mujeres the week before Christmas and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The resort is exceptionally clean, and the service was fantastic throughout our stay. A highlight was the food at Fusion, located in the neighboring Dreams resort—we highly recommend trying the beef tenderloin; it was phenomenal! The resort felt almost like a private getaway since it wasn’t crowded during our visit. We never struggled to find chairs at the pool or a Bali bed, and golf carts to and from the resort were always quick and easy. The pools were beautiful, and we were lucky to have great weather, with only one rainy day. The main downside of our stay was the food at Secrets, which was below average compared to other all-inclusive resorts we’ve visited. However, we understand the resort is undergoing renovations soon, and we’re hopeful that food quality will improve as part of the updates. Overall, Secrets Playa Mujeres offers a serene and service-oriented experience, with excellent amenities and the added bonus of access to the Dreams resort. If they can elevate the dining at Secrets, it will truly be a standout destination!
