Wonderful week with friends!
The rooms are very dated and in need of repair hence the big renovation in April. We paid a lot more for a swim out room and the pool was so tiny and ice cold. We didn’t even use it. Best part of this resort is hands down .. the ocean!! Big waves, white powdery sand, no sargassum, absolute perfection!! Unfortunately, they do not offer enough lounge chairs on the beach. Only a select few people who get up at 6am to grab them, will have chairs. Very unfortunate as it’s such an easy fix. Tons of room, I don’t understand it, buy more!! Food was fantastic. We went to most of the restaurants. Incredible food! Staff work so hard at this resort, there’s nothing they won’t do for you! Tipping well definitely helps. It’s very close to the airport, maybe 40 mins through the city. Check in was so easy with drinks waiting upon arrival. Watch out for TimeShare guy Chris after you check in. They will offer you $280 resort money if you view the new Dreams resort rooms and listen to their sales pitch. It takes 2 hours and you have to give a very firm NO in order to get out of there! The $280 can be spent at the gift stores, golf, spa etc. I thought it was worth it to get the resort money, as golf was insanely expensive! We used all the resort money on golf, and then some! After dinner it was kind of boring. The disco music after 11pm will kill your ears if you are over 30. It’s really for the 20 year olds. There’s nothing much for an older crowd after 11pm. The resort is very hidden in tropical bush. You can’t see where everything is. A golf cart takes you to the sports bar, disco, restaurants, main lobby etc. Its lush and beautiful! I would not go back to this resort, nor pay that kind of money again. I’ve been to many great resorts that offer the same for a lot less. Even so, we had an absolutely GREAT week because it’s all about the people that you go with, really.

Most rooms do not have an ocean view, so don't pay extra for one!
Pretty good for an all-inclusive resort! Very nice beach (but very short on beach lounge chairs), very nice pool, lots of restaurants to choose from with good food. BUT DO NOT PAY EXTRA for an ocean view! We did and got at best a partial ocean view (see photo). They were willing to move us, but only after 24 hours, and now refuse to give a partial refund or any kind of compensation.

Beautiful beaches and relaxing pools
The beach and pools are fabulous - lots of chairs - staff help with securing Bimini Beds on beach. Calm waters, beautiful soft white sand. The rooms were luxurious and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend Secrets Playa Mujeres - we would love to return here!

Secrets Playa Muerjes
Overall I was disappointed in our stay at Secrets, there are many things about the resort that need to be updated starting first with the rooms. There are few outlets and our shower was broken. For the restaurants and bars the resort seems very understaffed and it took a long time to get any sort of food or drinks. It didn't feel like it lived up to the standard of secrets or the amount of money we spent.

Great experience
The entertainment team was amazing! Felix and Carlos will take care of you! The volleyball was the best! Great competition! We had a great time! They were always engaging and had something for us to do. The food options were very good. I found something I liked at every restaurant!
