  Beautiful beachside property

  Secrets Playa Mujeres was a beautiful property on a nice stretch of beach. Several choices of restaurants with great food. Fun entertainment. Great service. Only came across a couple of people that didn't seem to love their jobs.

  Wedding Guest Experience

  Our friends had their wedding here and it was the most amazing time. Every aspect of this trip was amazing. I have to shoutout all the amazing employees : Alexis, Gloria, Rosa, Sexy Felix, & Cairo The room was well kept up by Alexis. It was spotless the entire trip. We had a group of almost 20 people each day at the pool. Gloria and Rosa kept up with us. Every day there was pool games. Sexy Felix kept the energy up. My husband highly suggest the swim up bar for our favorite bartender Cairo.

  A Great Getaway

  The combination of the golf course and resorts made for a memorable visit. The Spa services were comprehensive. There was a broad range of food offerings. Widespread use of shuttle carts to navigate the widespread facility was not problematic. And the cart drivers were always helpful in answering questions about the resort facilities and services. The Greg Norman golf course was well maintained and enjoyable from all of the tee locations. Staff service was impeccable as were the practice areas.

  WAY over due for the scheduled renovations that were postponed 18 months ago.

  This stay was a complete disappointment. As a UVC member since 2016 who has been typically excited, happy, and understanding, I am embarrassed and extremely concerned about the status of my membership after the most recent visit to this resort. Secrets Playa Mujeres should have been closed for renovations more than a year ago. Now knowing this was the original plan, and not following through but instead keeping it open and continuing to accept new reservations when not maintaining the resort, staff, brand expectation and experience is embarrassing. Furthermore, bringing 3 friends and family members to a resort for my 4th visit (potential members and future guests) with continuous disappointment and frustration throughout the week is completely unacceptable. You created disappointment even before arrival- by changing email systems for special requests during the stay. Asking for requests and then changing the system is horrible- why even send the email to ask?? Staff being pulled to work at the new Secrets Playa Blanca and leaving Secrets Playa Mujeres short staffed is unacceptable. We had lunches that took 90+ minutes, waited for more than an hour to see wait staff around the pool as there just was not enough staff to accommodate the guests. Unhappy guests mean unhappy staff. NOT the usual lively smiles we have always seen in the past. Construction and maintenance were done at all times of the day just trying to put bandaids on problems that were not truly being resolved. Rooms were not clean and maintained as they had always been in the past. Golf tees on the rugs from previous guests (as we do not even golf), blood on lingerie hangers, paint peeling, toilet flushers missing, hand towels no where to be found, broken tablets in the room, balcony doors difficult to operate or not working properly is just the beginning. The safety of boards missing on the pool walkways was a big concern. The noise level right outside the rooms every night through 11pm due to weddings, corporate events, and private parties that were held in the main resort walkways was disturbing. Guests rudely being able to make their own rules, move chairs, occupy entire community areas, cussing, and taking over entire server’s sections and time creates negative experiences for other guests. Trash and food left behind for hours. When short staffed this is NOT sustainable, but this is also not acceptable! Secrets specifically states they cater to couples- the resort this week was more like Spring Break at a Breathless Resort and nothing was said or done about it. This is Secrets not a Now, or Sunscape Resort. Furthermore this has been a 2:1 resort for members since 2017! I have stayed here in 2016, 2021, 2023, and now in 2025. I chose this specific resort for this trip as one guest also stayed in 2021 and had a grasp of the layout. The lack of service, communication, and transparency for the status of a resort is NOT why I invested in UVC or returned to the Secrets brand. I was promised an expectation and level of trust with this club, THIS resort is NOT upholding that promise at this time. Hyatt is causing more problems than good. This trip needs to be compensated as it was more of a job every day than it was a vacation. I understand that as resorts age they nee additional services. Since joining UVC and coming to this resort over the years the costs have continued to increase (at this resort more than any other) and the level of service and luxury have completely disappeared.

  Keep searching, you'll find places with higher service/food quality and more fun entertainment at price.

  Though bar is low when talking about food quality in all-inclusive resorts, but this place was even below expected average. Limited variety of food and average restaurant service. Lacking entertainment and more of a place to relax and leave fun activities behind. Spa was overpriced compared to equivalent services in Cancun. Please doo further research and you can find better places at this price.
