Nice place to vacation for 50+.

Beautiful area, pools, beaches, rooms, have a lot of privacy, Nightly entertainment was vary good. Easy to enjoy the time and never leave the resort. Food is not the best but not bad. The only thing I can complain about is the size of the Resort. Long walk from the beach rooms to the restaurant's and entertainment. I never checked on getting a lift. Older crowd, with Dreams next door or the younger family.

Excellent amenities and excellent value for money, evening entertainment outdated

Positives - Arguably the prettiest hotel of Punta Cana - The room we had (Preferred with ocean view) was great - everything you needed was there - Mini fridge always stocked up - Upon check-in, you will be asked if you want to upgrade to a Preferred room. They quote you $1,200 for a week, but if you have a good Spanish you can negotiate it down (we managed $900), which is basically cheaper than paying directly to the Preferred room when booking online (in total we paid £3,200 hotel + flights from London for 7 nights for two, plus the £700 hotel upgrade - this is definitely on the cheaper side for an all-inclusive luxury holiday on the other side of the Atlantic) - The buffet is amazing - We had great fun with excursions (although not booked with the hotel), we would highly recommend any ATV excursion in the jungle, it's great fun - The pools are great, and the DJ generally plays good music in the day - we liked that it wasn't a "dead" hotel in the day, it's quite lively Negatives - The room was fairly clean but not super clean - we found stains on the sheets on our arrival - and you have to "harass" the reception to have cleaners come back clean your room (definitely a VERY slow process, even for slow standards) - The a-la-carte restaurants are quite busy - we are late eaters so at 9pm there is space, but if you like to eat early be prepared to queue with all the Americans and Britons from 6pm sharp to 8:30pm - anyways not much is lost as it's very similar food from the buffet (only the French restaurant is really worth the wait in my opinion) - The evening entertainment is lacking, as it's geared for an older American audience, so it's basically boring and completely out of touch with the local culture (this is by far the biggest "negative" of this hotel) - after the 2nd night we basically decided to go outside the hotel most evenings to properly experience the local culture in local clubs or bars (however would only recommend this for proficient Spanish speakers)

    Quick Vacation Getaway

From the moment we got there, we were treated like royalty. The staff here is what makes this place special! Check in was a breeze. we met our butler, Rihanna- she is awesome. Saw to our every need with a smile and a pep in her step. She is seriously the cutest! Overall, we didn't have the greatest of weather. Lots of rain and clouds. But nothing against the resort for this. Both preferred club bars are awesome. The bar tenders work as fast as they can and made some pretty good drinks! Be sure to ask them for their favorite shot or drink- sometimes they are really good! Shout out to Rudy, Julio, and Richard- there was another guy at the preferred club beach bar- can't remember his name, - Renfelix?? HE was awesome too! The beach servers are also so nice, and work so hard. We aren't pool people, and love sitting at the beach. shout out to Fany, Saul, Rander. We were missing our favorite waitress, Lady- she was home sick! we always go the to buffet for breakfast- I have so many food allergies, its just easier for me to find food there vs. Olio sit down restaurant. Selections are great. Staff here is very helpful. Shout out to our favorite servers- Poche, Marlon, Reyni, and Wilken. Poche and Reyni always had our table decorated with fresh flowers and the napkins in cute display. And they were a riot to be around! We normally ate at Olio for lunch, as our favorite server in the whole place works there. Fidencio! He gave us some amazing lunches. We were always so full! and the food was so delicious. He made sure to add some special touches each day. We went to the buffet for lunch 1 time. It was also very good. Much selection. Our favorite restaurant is the Bordeaux. Again our favorite server was Fidencio. We never even looked at a menu. He always had a beautiful table ready for us and a delicious meal. We did request some things that we had remembered from the last time we were here, and he delivered on those too. The sommelier was also very attentive-I forgot his name! . We don't drink the house wine- it's terrible. We always have a bottle of wine- a bit of an uncharge, but we know this and plan accordingly. If we can't finish the bottle, they re-cork it and put it in the cellar and bring it to the next restaurant the next day for us. We have to admit, we only at at the place the whole week except for 1 night. The meals we had were just that good. A big shout out to Poche, Marlon, Juan Jose, Reyi, Carolina, and Victor. They are the absolute best!! They seriously treated us so well. The only other restaurant we ate at was the Bluewater Grill. It was good- not as special as the Bordeaux, but food was good. I can't remember our servers from there, but they were very polite. Overall, we would come back again. This was our 3rd time being here. The staff is what makes it so special. they really do an awesome job making your vacation memorable. We can't speak to the pool service, but they were always full of people. A little disappointed on our last night, as we were to have the wine room with 16 other of our friends that came that day. We were all set with food, and wine. Apparently the owner flew in and he wanted the wine room for himself. So we were kicked out of that- which we thought was terrible customer service on his part. This beautiful room that could hold 18 people- he sat there with 4 people. We were quite upset- however, the staff wasn't to blame. Just the owner. What a jerk! But the staff went above and beyond to decorate a beautiful table at Bordeux in the back. It was so nice. And the chef made an outstanding meal. Unbeliveble all the food! and the staff worked their butt off to make it a special night for us! We appreciated them so much! Another shout out to Fidencio, Poche, Juan Jose, Reyni, Carolina, and Victor! They are the heroes! The owner should give them a raise or a few extra days off for all they did for us! Housekeeping did a fine job of room cleaning and turn down service. I just wish they would provide 4 towels and 4 washcloths for 2 people. I don't understand why you only get 3 of each? Also wish they had more hangers in the closet. If you are coming for 7-10 days and have a dress for each day and my husband had 3 pairs of pants and 7 dress shirts, there just isn't enough. If you have time during your stay to make a trip to the Don Lucas Cigar tour- do it. We have been there 8 or 9 times. Free shuttle there and back. they have a cigar tour, rum tasting, jewelry- Larimar, chocolate, coffee and a souvenir shop with everything imaginable. I think it's about a 15-20 min drive. Perfectly safe! our favorite guy there is Jose. If you go- go early in the week of possible and early in the day. It gets crazy busy later In the day and the weekends are also crazy. Overall- I wouldn't hesitate to come here. The staff is what makes this place. They truly make your vacation the best. Enjoy!

    Very disappointing

The reviews prior to going is misleading. This resort has no appeal for excitement, rather boring. The food was tasteless. The drinks watered down. The Butler only responded when I reached out to him. I would not recommend this resort to anyone young, middle-age, or older. We had preferred Club swim out room. The room was extremely damp and need renovated

    Fun, no thinking vacation.

Fun, no thinking vacation. We went with 7 couples. Rooms were great, they just need a clock and a full length mirror. Food and drinks were great. Didn't really see any of the shows. It just seemed to always just be a singer. Staff was great and we really enjoyed morning yoga and stretch with Ramona.
