Dissatisfied! Extremely sales oriented staff - Too pushy to sell membership/upgrades
At check-in time, the front desk person tried to sell us an upgrade for $360 which included a higher floor in their preferred category collection. When I inquired more, I found out that I was given a room on the 1st floor (room no 1012) because I had booked through an agent and not directly through Hyaat. When i said no to an upgrade, I was sent to another representative and he gave us the offer to pay only $160 and sit for a 90-minute presentation to get an upgrade. We decided to pay and upgrade the room. The room given on 24th floor was far from the beach view, so we requested if we could get a room closer to the beach. He denied it and said there would be extra charges. After a while, when I came back and checked with another front desk person, he changed my room instantly (same category and higher floor -25th and closer to the beach). without any additional cost. The next day, when we went for a sales presentation, it went on for 4 hours. After declining, I was sent to another representative and then again to another representative. In all, I spoke with four sales representatives over a 240-minute presentation. There were so many attempts to sell an upgrade or unlimited Hyatt membership that it completely killed my mood. We have travelled 30+ countries and have never gone through such an extensive sales pitch. Will never recommend Secrets to anyone. F&B staff/chef was really good though. Chef Palapa and restaurant manager Jose for Olio made sure that our dietary concerns were addressed and checked-in with us regularly. Other than the dining experience, the experience was pretty poor and would recommend going there again. Also, we ran into a couple of friends/business associates coincidentally who also had a horrible experience with the sales pitch for Hyatt unlimited experience membership. We are forced to decide right after the presentation if we want to buy or not (they dont allow us a day or 2 to decide). One of our friend ended up buying the membership only to realize later that it wasn't suited for their travel style and spent another 2.5 hours trying to cancel. I strictly feel that guest should not be put in this position during their vacation/holiday.

Okay resort, staff steal
The grounds were nice. Beware they will try pretty aggressively To get you to sign up as a member of their hotel member service program. Also, beware of stealing. When we would return to our room our pants pockets would all be turned out and they had gone through my purse and stolen cash. I later saw several reviews about steeling at this resort and it’s very true. It’s very difficult to get into the steak restaurant. They should implement a reservation system

Better than expected
Better than expected. Overall good experience. Very good food and room condition. No need for room upgrade, all rooms are good. Dragon restaurant is not as good as others. Pools are very clean. Parking is good. 3 days stay is about right length.

20th Anniversary Trip
We had a great visit to Secrets the Vine. Rooms were clean, beach was amazing, food was good and service was great. Be sure to visit Axel at the bars and ask for a chocolate martini or find Lucy at the beach to help keep you hydrated. The buffets at the Cafe offered lots of variety for breakfast and lunch, and the steakhouse was our favorite specialty meal.
