Disappointing Experience – Lacks Entertainment & Not Worth Preferred Club
My husband and I chose Secrets The Vine based on the great reviews we read, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. Having visited other Secrets resorts, this was by far the most disappointing experience. Food: The dining options were mediocre overall. We tried Nebbiolo, Bluewater Grill, Sea Salt Grill, Market Café, and Dragons. Nebbiolo made me sick, Dragons was overly salty, and while Bluewater Grill had good food, the sides were tiny, and the wait was extremely long. Market Café had some good options, but a few breakfast items didn’t seem fitting for breakfast. Samaira at Market Café omelette station was wonderful. Preferred Club: We paid for the Preferred Club but found it underwhelming. While our butler, Manuel (level 24), was amazing, the benefits didn’t feel worth the extra cost. The alcohol selection wasn’t much of an upgrade, and the food options at the Preferred Club lounge were average—mostly small sandwiches, burgers, and desserts. The Preferred Club pool was nice, but it lacked entertainment and music, and service was slow due to a shortage of waitstaff. Pool & Entertainment: The main pool had some entertainment, but it wasn’t great, and there was a noticeable lack of music or engaging activities. More speakers and music throughout the area would help improve the atmosphere. Finding lounge chairs was also a major issue—by 10 AM, almost everything was reserved, and there weren’t enough umbrellas available. On the bright side, the pool staff was fantastic! Alberto was incredibly attentive, and Benjamin, the pool manager, was super helpful. Overall Entertainment: One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of entertainment throughout the entire resort. Unlike other Secrets properties, there were minimal activities, live shows, or engaging events to keep guests entertained during the day or evening. The resort felt too quiet, and without much to do, it didn’t offer the lively or luxurious experience we were expecting. Overall, the service from individual staff members was great, but the resort itself didn’t live up to expectations. Given our experience, we wouldn’t return to this location, especially considering the better experiences we’ve had at other Secrets resorts.

Great service - not so great food.
This resort was hands down the best Secrets resort I have stayed at and one of the better resorts I've stayed at in Cancun. The service was absolutely impeccable throughout the resort and our butler, Sebastian was attentive and quick to respond to any needs we had. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the food just wasn't good. I don't ever have high expectations at these places but everything just tasted off. From simple meals like a burger to more sophisticated meals at Dragon. I lost one pound on vacation! That NEVER happens! The hotel was incredibly clean and the rooms were well appointed. We were fortunate enough to have a corner room with a wrap around balcony with views of both the ocean and the lagoon. Just stunning! I would recommend this resort to family and friends.

Great girls trip!
Overall an amazing resort, I didn’t worry about a single thing over the 5 day trip. Loved the daily wine tastings with Oscar and Fabiloa. Bruce, Violeta, and Gabbi’s concierge service was phenomenal. The Chef’s Table experience with chef Rolando was incredible and my favorite part of the trip! The food was delicious and I learned so much. Alain and Aisha are great experience hosts. I highly recommend the experience! I would also suggest upgrading to preferred guests it was definitely worth it.

Oxner Wedding 2025
We got married at Secrets The Vine, It was an amazing experience. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We can not wait to go back. Blanca Diaz ensured our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. The water was absolutely beautiful.

Enjoyed our stay. Gluten free food was great!
We had a great time at the resort. It has a great view of the ocean. The staff were all very helpful and the entertainment team was working very hard to make sure everyone had something they could be part of during the day. I am celiac and cannot eat gluten. All the staff were very accommodating when I was ordering. I told them I was gluten free when I was ordering and they always made sure my meal was taken care of appropriately. Reyna in the market cafe was especially helpful and made sure I felt taken care of food wise my whole trip. One of the downsides is that it is a busy place so pool spots filled up fast. Also, if you went to a specialty restaurant for dinner during the dinner rush 7-9pm you would need to wait for a table. One night we waited 45+min. When we went for dinner at between 6-6:30 we never needed to wait.
