Not like other four Secrets i stayed before..... Not worth the extra money you have to spend....... Food just okay. Service did not feel like Prefered Club..... You can spend much less in other area hotels...... Overall no WOW ! effect......

The staff is fantastic and super friendly and the entertainment was top notch. I highly recommend the spa, as well. We got a couples massage with hydro therapy and it was amazing. The food was pretty good. There were always some kind of activities to do during the day and shows at night.

One of our favorite resorts to visit!
We first went to Secrets Tides in April 2024. We recently returned from Jan 24-February 1, 2025. UVC at Tides reached out to us prior to our trip. I asked if Daniel from UVC was still there as he had been very helpful during our first trip. I was happy to find out that Daniel was still there. I also asked if Hedral, who had been our butler on our first trip, was still there and he was. Upon our arrival, we were happy to see both Daniel and Hedral! Our upgraded room had a great view of the mountains and a sliver of the ocean and had a tub on the balcony. Our room was beautiful! We had some issues with our refrigerator freezing everything. We let Hedral know, and he quickly notified maintenance. Hedral also took care of getting our pool floats blown up and made us reservations at the Teppanyaki and, one evening, decorated our room with rose petals. We did have preferred privileges but did not go to the preferred pool as it was pretty full most days. We enjoyed the quietness of the middle pool. The pools here are my favorite as they have loungers around the pools and in the pools. A couple of days, there was an ice cream cart that came around and offered ice cream which was very good. Service, activities and entertainment have all improved since our first visit. Daniel and Hedral were top notch once again! Some of the other standouts during our stay were Confessor at the breakfast buffet and Italian restaurant, Esmeralda at the breakfast buffet, Wilson at room service, Felix and Victor at the Mexican restaurant, Luc and Luisa at the spa, Eddy and Ecarlos at the Teppanyaki, Hermani from UVC, Wicho and one other gentleman who made omelets at the breakfast buffet and Alberly and Jorge our servers at the middle pool. We loved the Italian and the Mexican restaurants and Eddy was quite the showman at the Teppanyaki table. Coco Café was a great evening stop for dessert. Barefoot grill was great for a quick lunch. We enjoyed the activities, however, I recommend getting to them at least 15 minutes in advance as they fill up quickly. My husband and I painted hats and made candles. I also painted a sunset on canvas, and made earrings and a necklace. I also attended a class on organic cocoa that was very interesting. The beach is incredible and you can walk quite far in each direction. I highly recommend getting up early in the morning and taking a walk to see breathtaking sunrises. Because of being located on the Atlantic Ocean side of the DR, the ocean can be a little rough and some days were red flagged for no swimming. A friend recommended chair bands to hold our towels on the loungers and they worked like a charm. We also brought our Brumate and Yeti cups and plastic straws. The resort does have paper straws but they only last a few minutes in a frozen drink. Our favorite evening entertainment shows were Queen and the 80's music show. My hubby prefers a firmer pillow to sleep on. We couldn't find anything about different pillows in the app, so we asked Hedral, and he brought several for my hubby to choose from. Tides has become one of our favorite resorts and we hope to return soon!

Secrets Tides Feb 2025
We had a great time. Best restaurant was Tierra. Breakfast at Oceana was good but could be a bit slow so plan accordingly. The resort is beautiful and very clean. Staff was very attentive. Loved the fire pits at night. Hydrotherapy was very relaxing and spa is very nice. Decent size gym with plenty of equipment. Could use more free weight selection for upstairs gym. Jonathan was our butler and he was awesome - went above and beyond to any request! We also enjoyed drinks in the preferred lounge by Felix (best espresso martinis) and Nika (best margaritas)!
