Top notch entertainment!
Top notch entertainment! We really connected with Cassie, Blaize, Sky & Qwan, however all of their entertainment crew are amazing! We loved playing beach & pool volleyball, the trivia games around the pool, the pool parties, parades, & all the dancing that we did. The highlight of our Jamaican vacation is always to see the Silver Birds Steel Drum Band. Really enjoyed the violinist Thursday night & Pace Band. Female singer's voice is amazing! Lastly the Bob Marley tribute band is incredible. If we closed our eyes we thought the lead singer was actually Bob Marley himself. Room was nice. We had a corner room so we were able to see the Caribbean Sea & the Bay. Bed was comfortable. Bell Man, Matthew is like part of the family. So happy to see you, greet you with a smile, fist bump, makes you feel special. Lisa and Shannon at the Wild Orchid preferred lobby always greeted us with a smile. Anything we asked for they immediately calling or looking into it. Whether it be getting us more water for our room, getting us change, checking on our departure info, etc. Food was good and they do have gluten free options available. Sometimes you have to ask for it. Shout out to our amazing server Kimberly at Bordeaux we had her serve us 3x. Kenroy at Portofino who served us twice. Nikoda at Portofino one time. One World Cafe supervisor Monique & Sasha-Gay helping me get GF pancakes. Chef SaShawna for making my GF pancakes twice and Chef Samantha one time. Servers Clive, Davia, Christine & Renardo following up and keeping me posted on my GF pancakes. Shout out to Chef Santana coming out from behind her pasta station to flag me down and let me know that she had GF pasta for me. Amazing 80 min massages from Stephanie & Carlise, who gave the best scalp massage I have ever had. Dervin, in the fitness center was very helpful in guiding me towards the right equipment in order to get my work out accomplished. This is why we love Jamaica. The nicest, most loving and caring people in the Caribbean!

5* resort with 3* niggly silly issues
A 5* resort but we experienced 3* niggly issues. Check in: 3pm but room not ready till 4:30pm. Issues: unable to lock door; ran out of shower gel; toilet didn't flush; excess water on balcony; room left open by staff - all resolved but shouldn't have happened in the first instance. Manager Regina McMahon took time out to listen to our issues and has promised to learn from them with the team. A shame we had a poor experience.

Amazing Experience at Secrets Wild Orchid!
Was 100% satisfied with our stay at Secrets Wild Orchid. The all-inclusive experience was almost flawless. Food quality exceeded what we've experienced at our country club. Loved the variety of all the restaurants and enjoyed the added bonus of great nightly entertainment with live bands and dancing by Montego Bay. Wow. Just. Wow! We did in-room dining on our last night and had champagne and fillets on the balcony overlooking the pool deck and the ocean. The icing on top was being able to do beach yoga with Katherine at the gazebo and actually on the beach. Bring your yoga clothes!

Nice couples trip
We just returned from our stay, March 16-21. We stayed in the regular ocean view building (not preferred), but had preferred access because of a Hyatt upgrade. Hyatt member, stayed on points! - Room was fine, clean, we had housekeeping service every day (some people said they didn’t, we always did along with turn down service). - Food is fine, but not fine dining. Don’t expect it. The casual food is yummy, have the jerk chicken and the shrimp burger. Eat at Portofino and Bordeaux. - Don’t expect hibachi reservations if staying less than a week, when we arrived Sunday, the earliest available was the following Sunday. - WiFi is spotty around the resort, even slow in room. Dead zones on the beach and pools. - Steel drum band was awesome, watch if they perform! The house band, Pace, also great. Live band karaoke was so much fun. - Plenty of drink service at the beach, both preferred and non. - Good selection of name brand liquors and heavy pours. - People claim the best spots EARLY. Towels don’t indicate taken space (Concierge told me they put out towels in the morning for guests, only personal items indicate claimed space). Plenty of availability if you’re flexible on location (i.e. don’t mind being in the sun). Both preferred and non! - Preferred isn’t worth it, in my opinion. We ate at Altitude one night and it was the worst meal of our trip (quality of food-wise). Overall, it was nice. I would never pay $800/night, I can’t see how it could be worth it (that’s the price on the website). However, on points it was great.

Nice place
We three couples in our sixties thoroughly enjoyed our week at Wild Orchid (in the non-preferred accommodations). Overall the staff was friendly, helpful and engaging the resort itself was clean - big enough that you could wander around the properties different pools, bars, restaurants and beaches, the fitness room and tennis/pickleball court yet not so big to be overwhelming. Other than supper, for us, there seemed to enough staff to meet the needs of the guests. Overall the food was very good, esp the breakfast and lunch buffets; Cafe Coco was the perfect stop for a morning coffee or snack. As previous reviews suggest, start lining up at 17:30 hrs if you want to eat before 19:00 hrs, otherwise you're effectively waiting for and hour or two at the French, Italian or Japanese restaurants to eat. None of us enjoyed the one supper we had at the Mexican restaurant and the hot, noisy, cramped atmosphere was not worth the so so food we had having made reservations at the Japanese place. A previous night we waited and went a la carte at the Japanese place and that supper was excellent. We brought our own duty free wine to supper most nights, and hope the resort continues to allow people to do so. The resort does not offer a supper buffet. We had one person that rose each morning before 07:00 to get towels and put them on some shaded beach or pool chairs. You'll be disappointed in what's left if you start the process after 07:30, as space is very limited even when the resort is at 75% capacity. The beach is ok, though forget swimming, as there is just not enough space or depth other than to cool off. You'll pay $10 pp to use the Hobie cats - if you use them head out and stay in the deep water as there are a lot of shoals running parallel to shore! The pool was big, clean and the poolside entertainment was fun but not overwhelming, too long or excessively loud - go next door if you prefer a more raucous venue! We hired a taxi to take us to Negril for an afternoon and Rick's Cafe for sunset - that was a good mid week diversion worthy of the cost for us, vs the all to familiar catamaran booze cruise. We did not use the spa other than to get pickleball gear, nor fitness centre though it did appear to be well equipped nor did we see any of the night time entertainment as we dined late each night, but were up early the next day to rinse and repeat.
