- bed was comfortable but every time we moved we would get a musty smell - room smelled musty and there was mold in the bathroom - called maintenance 4 times about the extremely cold temperature in the room and issues with our phone but we could never get an answer - this was our 3rd time at Secrets and we didn't even get an upgrade or comped anything - they are into a pyramid scheme - some staff were nice but many were rude - food was mostly awful and we got sick a few times, many others at the pool told us they were sick on the food - extremely salty food - no buffet at dinner except one night and this was one of the best meals - told us it was mandatory to buy a $75US bottle of wine to reserve seats at the Christmas dinner which was not true - can't get a seat by the pool because there are cabanas that start at $100US a day that take up all the pool deck - staff kick people out of lounge chairs saying they are reserved since most cabanas come with 2 lounges - waited 1 1/2 hours for a bottle of water poolside even when I tipped for drinks - if you want peace and quiet and a relaxing vacation, pay for the perferred side otherwise be prepared to listen to the entertainment team play awful music and scream over the music telling you to get up, it's a party resort - one couple didn't get hand towels one day and called housekeeping and we're told for $22US they could get 2 hand towels - had long waits to get into a la cart restaurants - entertainment was not that great and you can't get a seat - smoking and vaping allowed anywhere, even in restaurants - don't even bother with the casino - one lady at the omelette station was amazing (Samantha) - the chicken dinner at Blue Mountain was delicious and the waiter Jameel was nice - be prepared for slamming doors starting at 5:30ish since people get up that early to reserve chairs ...as I said too many cabanas and reserved lounges plus people from the preferred side want the loud party atmosphere and come over and take the seats...we can't go to their side....thus no sests for us If you want lousy food, a drunken loud party, rude service by some (I was made fun of because I ordered water), lousy service, mold and mildew, chased to join pyramid scheme, and nowhere to lie down poolside then this is the place for you. What a waste of our money! NEVER GOING BACK

Dec 31, 2024Decent resort but not worth the money
The staff at Secrets were all pleasant and helpful with any questions we had. The first room we were given smelt musty, we told the front desk immediately and they checked us into a different room, no problem. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable but there were a few days where housekeeping didn't come and when they did it didn't seem like they cleaned very much. The food started off great, but we noticed as the resort got busier later in the week the quality of the food went down hill and the wait times in restaurant were excruciating. There were not a lot of activities on the property that didn't require extra payment which was a bit of a letdown considering how much money we already paid to be there. The bar staff was great, specifically Shackeena! She was amazing and made sure we had a great time at the pool!

We had a great vacation during the Christmas holidays. Thank you for all the staff for being always attentive and ready to serve and help. Food and restaurants are very good. Beach is beautiful and clean. The room is clean and beautiful. We had an amazing ocean view room. Thanks for a great vacation

Pretty good time
Quan was an amazing entertainment host. Shellion was the best server. Resort lacked a little bit all around, but they did just come off of a major service interruption. The water around the resort was stunning. Definitely recommend a katamaran to snorkel the reef. Impossible to get a virgin drink even though they have a specific menu.

Food poisoning from diner on the last night there. Rooms were a bit out dated and dirtier than expected. The beach was great though and lots of chairs available. The staff was kind although a little slow. Some restaurants were closed but not listed as such on the app.
