Great location and room rate, not that great out a hotel room but worked for us.

I stayed at the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki along with my wife for 4 nights in January 2025. I encountered a few problems here and there most of which were out of the staffs control but overall we had a nice stay. I do recommend this hotel especially if you are not looking to spend a lot of time in the room and will be planning to mostly enjoy the island/beach outside of the hotel. I'll start with some of the positives. The staff were always friendly and attentive. The location is fantastic. Its not beachfront of course but its pretty much in the middle of downtown Waikiki and its extremely easy to walk directly to the main shopping area, main street with all the restaurants, and Waikiki beach. Its just one block away to luxury shops filled main street which runs parallel to Waikiki beach. I easily walked from my hotel down the entirety of Waikiki beach every morning. I also loved the the Shoreline hotel was lit up with pink lights at night because it made it very easy to spot from the main street when walking back at night. There are a lot of people walking around this area and I felt very safe the whole time. There is Ross store almost directly across the street. There was a mini food plaza next door to the Shoreline hotel and an independent breakfast restaurant attached for direct and easy food access. You are within walking distance to the International Market place with tons of shops and cool restaurants and also the Waikiki Zoo. There were a lot of exercise and fitness people running around these wide main streets and beach areas. Now onto the Shoreline hotel itself and I should state for the readers that I'm not much of a fussy person and I sort of roll with the punches when encountering something unexpected while traveling. There was valet parking available which charge about $45 each day. There probably was public parking available somewhere although I did not see any on the same street as the hotel. I'd rather pay for the convenience but to all reading just don't leave any stuff in your car either way. When driving take an immediate left after the Shoreline hotel down the alley and you will see a ramp going up and hallway leading right into the lobby. The Shoreline hotel is trying to be like a modern art hotel with fancy furniture and colorful walls but was clearly quickly renovated without the nice finishing touches. Its interesting style and all but the rooms are not that great. The rooms feel like a box with kinda crappy "modern" furniture around but not much else. The bed sheets were clean but I did find a big hair in the bathtub which was so visible that I was astonished. The room size is fine and the bed was fine. We think that they were watering down the body wash and shampoo products. The shower did get nice and hot and the bathroom got so steamy it turned into a stream room. Some of the the furniture was a little rough as well but there was an adequate air conditioner. After we were back at night from walking around and going to restaurants etc., the hotel worked for us as we just hung out on the bed on our phones/laptops but if you want a really nice hotel room then just stay somewhere else. The room lodging rate was the cheapest around for an adequate room and a safe place to leave you luggage each day. If you are on a budget and will not spend a lot of time in the room then I do highly recommend based on location and ease. Now when I was visiting the Shoreline was doing construction on all the balcony's so I could not use mine. I was disappointed that I couldn't walk onto it. There was also a lot of construction sounds come Monday morning so it would be worth contacting the hotel to see if the construction has completed and if you will have access to your balcony or not. The stay would have been way better if we could have utilized the balcony. We did get to use the rooftop pool a couple of times. Its clean with a nice view of the surrounding city but sort of small pool area. On Monday I tried to access the rooftop pool and it was shut down due to construction.

Serious safety concerns with fire alarm

We are in this hotel right now. Serious issues with their fire alarm system. Announcement at 3 AM to evacuate building due to fire. After evacuating and waiting outside for around 15 mins we would all told it was a false alarm. Once again around 6AM alarm went off telling us to evacuate. Once we were in stairs heading down we were Once again told false alarm. 7AM announcement came on telling us to evacuate. We are leaving today, but alarm has gone off 2 more times again. I would not be staying here another night because there obviously is serious safety concerns and obviously not a good sleep

    DONT GO THERE!!!

My stay at the Shoreline Hotel in Waikiki was a nightmare. The hotel was undergoing major construction, which they failed to clearly disclose. We were jolted awake by loud drilling at 8:30 AM, and the balcony was covered in concrete. To make matters worse, construction workers were on our balcony, peering in through the window, which was completely unacceptable. The management was dismissive and refused to offer a full refund, despite the intolerable conditions. I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel at all costs

    Great affordable Accommodation

Great stay at Shoreline. Really friendly staff, easy check in/out process. The water machine was a great surprise that I got full use of. Nice pool with beautiful views. My room was spacious and really comfy bed. Excellent location, only minutes to great eateries and shopping. I travelled solo this trip so a safe, clean place was essential. I definitely experienced this at Shoreline. Highly recommend.

Fine minus Julia at the front desk

Julia made no eye contact with me when I asked for help with the internet, as I wasn’t able to connect. She told me there was nothing else she could do because it was “my” problem. Damien was a superstar and the one employee that showed me where the complimentary beach chairs, floats, soda, and ice machine were. He went out of his way to make my trip comfortable. Julia was miserable.
