Not worth the money at all

Extremely disappointed in our expensive dinner. Pasta had approximately 1 piece of lobster and 2 shrimp for 36 euros. Dessert took over 30 minutes. Nice server but this was our second time. Felt a bit ripped off the first time but this was definitely our last.

Great experience overall!

Sol E Luna was exactly what we were looking for on our honeymoon. Quiet, relaxing, private and romantic. We went to Saint Martin during the off season so we knew it wasn’t going to be busy, but we had the whole place to ourselves for the majority of our stay. Katya was amazing, along with the rest of the staff! Our room was cleaned whenever we needed it, fresh towels always ready. We had breakfast most mornings at the hotel. Dinner was amazing! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I would highly recommend staying at Sol E Luna if you want an authentic Saint Martin locale experience. It’s about 20 minutes from the Dutch side, where there is more of a tourist presence.

No, no and no

I was planning to wait until the end of our stay to write a review but really there is nothing more to expect. I mean it is obviously not going to miraculously improve in couple days. First of all, by no means it’s a 5 star property, so the owners should remove at least 2 stars from their advertisement. The location is not in the “middle of everything”, rather in the middle of nothing. There is no beach, no shops, no other restaurants, no convenience store in the walking distance. The view from the room is onto a dirty reservoir and dump site. Nothing works in the room: light switches, remote control, safe box were all broken when we checked in! So the first day I had to call a reception every 15 minutes asking to fix something. The staff is responsive and nice but this should not be happening at a 5 star hotel. Wi-fi is non existent, no connection at all. Pool is a joke, it’s a kiddie pool, not a swimming pool of 5 star hotel. Also I get the open layout design is a very European concept, but I don’t want to have toilet, wardrobe closet (with no doors and no shelves) and a shower next to each other. Also the bathroom space is so tiny that when you take shower the water splashes everywhere including the closet. The price includes continental breakfast only, so if you want to order some hot meal, you have to pay. One ! bottle of water was provided only upon arrival, and no water after. All that for $350 per night??? Sorry but no.

An overpriced B&B with full of misinformation in the description. AVOID!

Staying at Sol e Luna was a very frustrating experience. I am entirely baffled by the numerous 5/5 feedbacks about your hotel and services as our experience was far from perfect. To be honest, I never want to stay in Sol e Luna again. In summary: please don't believe half of what this hotel advertises on different travel websites. There is NO beach in walking distance. You definitely need a car to get by. The restaurant prices are daylight (evening) robbery. No entertainment whatsoever. The pool is 7x4 metres. A dipping pool, maybe, but not a swimming pool. The view from the balconies is a dump site. If you are happy with a toilet in an open living space approx 2-3 metres from the pillow on the bed then enjoy! This has been my worst ever Caribbean hotel experience. I thought: let's support small businesses and not do 'All Inclusive' this time. These guys are giving a bad name to small businesses. I will never stay in a similar establishment again, so they are ruining the chances of fellow, decent establishments. In one sentence: a dishonest rip off, book it at your peril. The hotel itself would have been 3-star in my review, but drops to 1-star due to the lies.

Average Hotel/Average Food

Stayed here for a couple of nights in Early Feb 2020. The hotel is really nothing more than a few rooms up above the restaurant, which is fine, but quite a ways to lug heavy luggage up steep cut stone stairs. Also, the room felt quite small, and the water pressure was basically non-existent. It was clean, and a fine place to stay, but given that we don't speak french, and the nightly cost, it wasn't for us. As for the restaurant, It felt stuffy and overpriced. Again, we felt overlooked since we didnt speak french. The desert was very good, but I wouldn't eat there again for dinner.
