I love the restaurant here. The fried fish was delicious, and the pizza too! I have to comment on the service: the best was Victor Pol’s service. Always with a smile and with obvious pride for his work. I come back here year after year to eat. It never disappoints!

Only reason is 3 stars is because of the over priced experience on excursions they sold us everything else was good 👍, Food, pools, staff, everything 👍👍👍👍, Overall place is pretty good not the fanciest but definitely recommend because it’s pretty far away from all the chaos of the city. It’s about a 15 minute drive I definitely say use Uber this way you dont get scammed by the taxis overcharging like crazy. My only complain would be try and book your Excursions elsewhere not at the hotel they are over priced here. When we went on ours I asked the families on the same excursions we went on and they saved 20-30-50k pesos each per person so big savings 100k in pesos for 2 people is a lot LOL so do some research before booking anything would be my advise other then that good 👍

Nice Place to Stay
Great time, free breakfast was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Gives some peace away from the centre of Cartagena, but only a 15 minute drive to the centre! Beach right behind isn’t anything special, but far more calm than the other public beaches in the downtown area.

Lovely experience!
We have had an amazing experience, the hotel staff has been way too friendly, kind and welcoming. Definitely will get back for a lovely time. La experiencia ha sido muy agradable, el personal muy amable y amigable. Volvería con mi familia nuevamente.

Beautiful relaxing family hotel a short taxi ride from Cartagena and the walled city
The Sonesta Cartagena grounds are clean and lovely, the room is comfortable with sufficient AC for us extranjeros not acclimated to the very humid climate along the coast. The pools are their crown jewels, with lifeguards to watch the kiddos. I spent a few lazy days by the beachside pool - Byron, one of the lifeguards, was always super sweet and friendly, happy to let me practice my awful language skills. My room fronted the highway, but honestly I didn’t notice road noise after 8p or so (most of it from taxis picking up guests at the hotel and blocking the roadway). Once connected - I think asking the desk to help was key? - wifi was pretty solid throughout the week. The gym, like every hotel gym, has basics but needs an up-do - just ask them to turn on the AC, they (very reasonably) turn it off to save energy. Gustavo and Gennifer solicited a review - they were excellent hosts at my second breakfast buffet. But tbh every one of the staff work so very hard to create a wonderful hotel experience here - everyone is friendly and tries to engage with even us non-Spanish speakers! Luis the bartender at the lobby bar makes a beautiful G&T, as does the lady bartender Melissa, at the pool bar. This hotel was a welcome retreat after the chaos of Cartagena proper and Getsemani, and will send me back with good memories!
