Cabana Day But Will Not Retun

We recently spent the day by renting a Pool Cabana and taking advantage of the Spa. Before we could make our Spa reservation, I was sent a request for my credit card authorization through “Canary”. I had to send a PHOTO of the front and back of my license and my credit card which I accomplished. A credit card authorization was confirmed. The resort is on the ocean. The Spa reception was mistaken and insisted I present my credit card after I had already sent my pre authorization with my identification. Not only that, but somone from the Spa management followed me back to my cabana to ask me to get in the shuttle to return to the Spa with my credit card. This disturbed me because I told the receptionist since my Apple Pay wouldn’t work and I needed a card, I would return with my card when we were ready to leave (again, the Spa is back UP the hill and we would be passing) Firstly, when we arrived (we took a car from Welcome Transfers from Jetty Beach) Here is one of the reasons for my 2 Star review. When we got to Sugar Beach (30 Min drive) we were left off at the top of the resort right by the guard house. While we had a reservation, our driver was limited and couldn’t enter the resort to drive us to the beach. What we found to be so thoughtless and dangerous was that the guard on duty told us to walk down a very steep driveway instead of calling us a golf cart to take us down. We are not young and the walk was very dangerous and slippery and steep. After a 20 minute walk downhill, we entered the lobby of a building and spoke to the Concierge-we were told to walk even more to the pool area (10 minutes). This is disturbing because they have a shuttle service. We were very nicely welcomed by the person who took care of us. She was expecting us and she showed us to our Cabana. Bother she and her co-worker were exceedingly nice. The Cabana was stocked with Beer, Rose Wine, soft drinks and juices. It was a very nice steam with privacy and a table and chairs and a sectional sofa. Two lounge chairs were also in front of the Cabana. We gave her our credit card and she gave me a receipt to be used to get the shuttle back to the parking lot (finally!!!) You see, the walk is really dangerous, long and far. When we arrived we felt we were given no consideration as to the danger and length of the walk on an active steep road. The pool is beautiful the beach is also beautiful. I will say that the beach is very crowded because it is not a private beach. There is a small dock and boats come and go all day dropping off bathers to use the beach. This makes the beach busy and crowded with the hotel guests and the beach goers vying for the ocean toys. Perhaps those rafts are in fact owned by the tour companies and not Sugar Beach-then it would be more understandable but still, note the beach is not quiet and private. The Spa was quite nice, the treatments very nice. The Soa reception was the issue d

Perfect spot to celebrate milestone birthday!

We chose to return to Sugar Beach to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. I echo the many superlatives mentioned in others' reviews: outstanding location; spotless beach; excellent on-premises restaurants; top-notch service from our butler, Wynel; seamless transportation between airport and resort; gorgeous spa. I would like to add that the restaurants accommodated many special requests with ease and the shuttle drivers were very kind and attentive to our group's mobility issues. We will definitely come again!

    Over the top incredible!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this resort and the people of this island. It was probably the best place we have ever stayed! The facilities were well maintained, clean and everything was incredible. The team of people who work on the resort are top notch. We did not want for anything. Michaela, Macrina, Perlicia, Kingsley, Tracey, Otis, Kennis and Afra and many others made our trip outstanding. The kids club was awesome and my 7 year old daughter loved visiting it. The rooms and property were incredible. You cannot beat the beach and the view! The food was really good with lots of choices on each menu for food and drinks. The daily breakfast buffet was over the top which included mimosas and even an acai station! Our whole family enjoyed the S'mores nights by the beach which were very tasty and the local chocolatier on site was also delicious and made beautiful chocolate bars and pralines. We enjoyed the Latin night buffet and WOW, the options were infinite. We enjoyed welcome drinks and snacks after a long trip. We had a lovely welcome bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room, fresh beautiful flowers decorating parts of the room and we loved how the resort left us a nice gift each day such as coconut lotion, chocolate scrub, coconut oil etc. from the local island--this was a nice touch. We also booked out transportation to and from the airport which was a breeze. We booked local tours to the waterfalls, Sulfur Springs (mud baths) and Hotel Chocolate chocolate making tours and they were all seamless and easy. The security at the resort was great, we felt very safe during our entire stay. We felt relaxed, pampered and very welcomed. They completely thought of everything!!! Highly recommend this place. We miss it already and can't wait to return.

    Place, People, environment just Perfect.

Out of 10 it's an easy 10+.. My wife and I got married in St Lucia over 20 years ago and returned to mark the occasion and WOW we were blown away by the Hotel Staff and the rooms and Restaurants. 'Swamed' our butler for the 10 days was literally No 1 for attention to detail, taking care of our every need and most of all full of smiles and a can do attitude. His personal delivery of coffee and pastries was a high light and above and beyond!! Thank you also to James Wyndham MD who is clearly leading his team from the front 👍

More than just a holiday! A wonderful memory.

One of best holidays I’ve had. I don’t write many reviews but I’ve travelled around the West Indies and can say hands down this is the best luxury resort in the Caribbean. The staff are amazing and that’s what makes your trip here better than other luxury destinations. The Caribbean culture is irreplaceable. Full of smiles and good feeling. The kids club was a blessing. Canice and Gemma made our kids feel at home from the first second. The activities were engaging, fun and brought all the children together. We also tried the chocolate making with Paul which I highly recommend, even if you have young children. The food is outstanding. Whichever restaurant you go to. The choice is incredible and a very high quality. The beach and pool staff are also brilliant. Kingsley, William, Otis, Laurencia, Lera, and D. Thank you guys. Your smiles each day made our trip. Our butler staff were great too, in particular Kimran. Sugar beach is just the place to if you want to unwind and catch a break from the winter of Europe. We’ll be back I’m sure. This was our second visit after a 5 year hiatus. It has got even better. Well done to Jonathan and his team.
