    Great experience!

So relaxing- great food and great beach. Not too far from San Miguel and the ferry from Cancun. The all-inclusive aspect was so convenient. Loved that the snorkel equipment was included daily. Perfect spot to chill out and relax for a few days. Highly recommend!

    Great place

We traveled with a group of 25 and we all agree that Sunscape was great. The food was tasty and there was plenty, the room was clean, AC worked, toilets flushed, room was cleaned daily, our safe worked, beds were comfortable. Bring water shoes. The beach was amazing. For the price this place was great. The only buffet is at breakfast. Lunch and dinner are sit down and order off a menu unless you get the burgers and nachos pool side. The addition of a late night pizza or ice cream would be great.

    Will never go back !!!

From the time we arrived we had nothing but trouble at this place. Steps up to our 3rd floor room were full of garbage Hot water took 25 minutes to get luke warm Dresser drawers wouldn't close AC remote didn't work Light fixture outside our room was missing (this did get replaced after a complaint) Toilet paper holder was falling off the wall Food was terrible and often impossible to get Our room only got cleaned 2 times in 8 days. (only when I complained at the front desk) Etc. My guess is the building we were in is scheduled to be torn down and replaced so they had no intention to fix anything or even clean it up. The rest of our group had rooms that were nicer than ours. I asked for a new room 20 minutes after arrival and was told there were no rooms available. Funny, since 20+ people in our group hadn't arrived yet. When we arrived, hungry and tired, we tried to go into the restaurant for lunch. We were told to go to the other restaurant (the buffet). At the buffet, almost all of the serving trays needed to be refilled. All that was left was burnt tortillas and chicken soup, which was cold. The sterno cans that keep food warm had long since burned out. This was common many days we tried to eat there. We were told there were 5 restaurants. There were only 2, plus a hamburger / hot dog wagon by the pool. It always had a huge line, and was out of propane or out of food 2 of 3 times we tried to go there. One day the buffet tables were full so I tried to get food and take it to the bar area that is right on the other side of a small wall next to the restaurant seating area. The restaurant manager stopped me and wouldn't let me take my food out. I told him I had an afternoon dive and did not have time to wait for a table. I was told NO. THAT'S THE RULE. I yelled at him and told him what I thought of the resort and handed him my plate and went hungry. This resulted in the resort manager coming out and giving me a lecture on disrespecting his employees. (??????) 2 DAYS LATER they started serving food in the bar area ?????? Sunscape is a LONG WAY FROM TOWN. ($40 plus tip cab ride there and back) Still we went into town to eat several times. The only part of this resort that worked was the bar. There was nothing top shelf available, but the drinks were good and the bartenders did a great job at keeping everyone's glass full. Even with the New Years Eve crowd there we didn't wait more than a few minutes. We went to Sunscape with a Scuba group. This place is NOT set up for divers. We had to walk a good distance to the resort next door to get on the boat. AND they charged us $10 US every time we walked out the dock (Even if we had paid that morning.) We have been diving since the 90s. We often stay on remote islands where the accommodations are not luxurious. Sunscape has the potential to be a nice resort, but the management and most of the staff just doesn't care. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.

    Don't Waste Your Money Here!

We stayed at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel from Saturday, December 28, 2024-January 4, 2025. There were over 20 of us altogether in our group. Most of our group were in the buildings closest to the ocean. Although all rooms were booked at the same time, our room was in the far back of the resort. For starters, this area had some kind of sewage issue so there was a foul smell most of the time outside our room. From the very beginning, this resort was terrible. Within minutes of entering our room, we asked for a different room only to be told there was no empty rooms available. Our room (#2431) was just plain worn out. The furniture was stained and dirty looking. The drawers in the chest of drawers would not stay closed; they would roll open all the way and stay there. There were points of every screw (they used drywall screws to put the furniture together) sticking out at least 1/2 inch in 2 of the drawers. Luckily, we had tape so we taped over the tops of the screws so our clothes would not get harmed. The light outside on our floor was missing and wires were hanging where the light should have been. Going up and down the stairs in the dark was very dangerous. They did replace the light when we asked. The air conditioner kept freezing up or stopped working altogether. (It got stuck on 17C / 25C / or just wouldn't come on.) We had maintenance come up 3 times to get it fixed. The toilet paper holder was loose and the toilet paper kept falling onto the floor so we quit using it. Every time we wanted to shower, it took a minimum of 25 minutes to get lukewarm water; the water never got hot. Our room was not cleaned until we asked on Tuesday-our 4th day! By the time we asked for our room to be cleaned, trashcans were overflowing with used water bottles which we had to use since the water in the sinks was not potable. We had to ask again on Thursday for our room to be cleaned. Our room was cleaned but a pile of dirty linens was left on the table in our room. Every other person in our group had their rooms cleaned daily and extra water was left in the refrigerator for them. We had to get water from the bar to brush our teeth and drink in our room. There were dirty dishes, some with food still on them, and trash left by other people on the steps and outside of our room beginning on Sunday. The dishes were there all week until we took them to the front desk on the last day (Saturday) to show management how little attention our area got from housekeeping. Again, all of the others in our group seemed to have had housekeeping in the mornings and their outside areas were cleaned several times daily. (Just my thoughts...I really felt as if staff were paid for a certain number of hours each day and they always started each morning at the rooms closest to the beach. When their hours were up, they went home therefore, they never got to our room which was in the back.) The food was awful! The day we got there, we were told by the restaurant that we would get better food at the buffet. We went to the buffet only to find very little food available. This was the way the buffet was all week. Breakfast was depleted by 7:30a. What food was available was cold and often looked like leftovers from the previous morning. Additionally, birds were all over the pastries and fruits that were left in the open. We were scuba diving so by the time we would get to lunch, about 12:30p, the buffet was empty of food. Several days our lunch consisted of cold tortillas and either white rice or beans, not even both. Nothing else...No sauce / salsa / vegetables. Every day, empty, or pans of cold food on the buffet was the norm. One day there was a soup that had chicken bones and skin and nothing else. Another day had hotdogs and some leftover vegetables. There was a "food truck" with hamburgers and hotdogs available on some afternoons. The one day I went there, the plates were filthy with bits of food on every plate picked up. Several of us were so hungry that we used napkins to wipe off the plates just so we could get something to eat. Another day, we waited as the man was setting up only to find out his propane tank was empty. Another tank was brought in but he didn't have the tools needed to connect it...By this time, it was too late to get lunch at the resort. On our second day, a group of us (8) wanted to eat together. All tables in the cafe were for 2 or 4 people. We pushed together some tables in the bar so we could eat lunch together. As my husband was bringing his plate to us, he was told that he couldn't take his food out of the buffet area. (The bar and buffet were separated by a short wall about 3 ft. high and 1 foot wide. We were set up on the other side of the wall from the buffet.) There were no tables in the cafe and we were diving in the afternoon. Their rule was you could eat breakfast or dinner in the bar area but not lunch because of glass. Yet, glass plates / cups / glasses were used at breakfast and dinner. Not 2 minutes after they took my husband's food away from him (!), an employee knocked a glass light fixture off the wall. The pane of glass hit me and shattered. No apologies. They cleaned some of it up but not all of it. When we left on Saturday, Jan. 4, there was still broken glass in the area. We have stayed at 3 other resorts on Cozumel (Scuba Club, Hotel Cozumel and Resort, and Fiesta Americana) for a total of about 12 visits. All of these resorts were well maintained, clean, and focused on the customer. This resort was by far the worst we have ever stayed at in all of the Caribbean. Don't waste your money here! *Just an FYI, a cab ride to San Miguel cost $20US each way for up to 4 people. A van for 5 people cost $40US each way.

Maybe a 3 Star at best

Resort is in major need of renovations. Poorly maintained with exposed electrical wires on sidewalks. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Most all all inclusive have room service for food but this one does not. The best part of the resort is the price .
