Breakfast buffet is served at Los Tucanes in the hotel section of the resort, with multiple food stations including made-to-order eggs and omelets, pancakes and waffles, a tropical fruit juice bar, a seasonal fruit selection, cereals and cold cuts, cheeses, smoked fish, and local specialties such as gallo pinto, tamales and sweet plantains. Guests can also order a la carte from a menu covering light fruit plates and continental selections more extensive and traditional Costa Rica and American options including omelets, pancakes.
Fine dining dinner is available at Los Tucanes with elaborate, creative dishes that blend international ingredients with the best of fresh Costa Rican produce and specialties. The region's top chefs are masters at blending flavors and creating new culinary experiences. A Los Tucanes dinner may highlight favorites such as Pacific tuna, salmon or sea bass; shellfish, river trout, and grass-fed beef, along with lamb, caviar, and foie gras. The restaurant offers a three-course prix fixe menu. The restaurant can create simpler dishes for younger guests and can modify dishes to accommodate dietary needs.

In a secluded area in the upper part of the mineral springs complex, the garden is the new "it" place for discriminating guests and luxury spa vacationers. The Tabacon experience at the Arenal Volcano centers on the hot thermal springs, pools and the Grand Spa. The main sunbathing and swimming area features five pools with temperatures ranging from 25 to 38 degrees C (77 to 102 F), the main one with a swim-up bar and thermal water slide. The pools on the lower section offer a more secluded ambiance with spectacular volcano and rainforest views, and they are also within the main service area of the Arenal Swim-Up Bar.
Tabacon features four additional pools, a cold-water one set in the rainforest, two specifically for our Grand Spa guests, and a third as a cold alternative between the hot springs in the tropical gardens. These pools are strategically located along the walking trails of the gardens and provide a nice relaxing break from the explorations of the flowers and plants, and the surprisingly regular wildlife sightings.

The Tabacon Grand Spa Experience starts with the natural hydrotherapy provided by the hot springs and waterfalls, naturally heated and fed by the Arenal Volcano. The minerals dissolved in our springs are known to relax and heal, giving you an unusual and beneficial experience. In our relaxation area, you'll find a co-ed Jacuzzi pool and rest areas. You can enjoy tea and smoothies before you set off for an individual or couples' treatment. The open-air bungalows come in various sizes, some designed for one person other for two persons. Each bungalow has an open-air Jacuzzi with water from the thermal mineral spring water, and is complemented by outside whirlpools and streams

A truly magical place! Surrounded by beautiful and lush plants/flowers, thermal pools and gracious staff! Every single encounter was met with kindness, smiles and knowledgeable information. One driver even made a special stop so I could get a picture of the Arenal volcano in full view. The sound bath wellness massage highly recommended, a healing experience. The association with Jacamar tours top notch! We did the Hiking lovers suspension bridges, waterfall and volcano tour with a small group and a wonderful guide! The farm to table lunch was one of the best meals! We feel so fortunate to have experienced Tabacón resort. BTW rooms/ suites well appointed, comfortable beds and huge bathrooms!

A must visit on your trip to Costa Rica!
Visited Tabacon hot springs for the day and we had an incredible experience as a family going from pool to pool exploring the beautiful grounds. The lunch was perfect and we definitely recommend spend the extra time and money for the included meal. Max was amazing and made sure our lunch was first class from included appetizer, main course and dessert. We were so impressed by the food and service would absolutely do again 5 out of 5 star meal. The Tabacon is a must visit for the day, and I can say that 1 day is probably enough. After 5 hours in hot pools we were all so tired but also such a great experience all around!

Definitely a resort to visit again.
Excellent customer service. Beautiful resort with outstanding views. Rooms are beautifully decorated with huge shower. Plunge pool in suite was spectacular. Delicious food. Wonderful amenities. Excellent location in La Fortuna. Private hot springs for guest only.

Best Holiday Ever
We have traveled to many places in the world and I can say easily that Tabacon is top on the list. The staff is the friendliest team we have experienced in the world. Top notch spa, food, hot springs. We highly recommend this resort and will certainly be back! Pura Vida!

Heaven on Earth
I write short reviews. We visited last week with seven couples. This is a one of a kind experience. If a room is available, book it. Regardless of the investment required, you will not regret this. Your memories will thank you forever. Pura Vida!
