    Perfect wedding & amazing week

    Got married at The Fives on March 1 & had the best time! 60 of our friends and family came down for the event and everyone loved the resort - people kept telling us how beautiful it was and how they loved that we chose this place for our wedding. This was our 2nd stay at the resort and I love the food options (Sea Olive is my favorite!), all the pool options and the beautiful nature aspects of the hotel. The people at the resort really make all the difference - they are the nicest, most attentive people I have ever met. We had Eduardo & Jimmy worked our wedding plus a couple of the other events we had, and they were incredible. They remembered our specific wine preferences, who in our parties had food allergies and overall were so sweet & fun to be around. Ivan & Max were our wedding coordinators, and I couldn't have been happier - I felt like I was in such good hands with everything. They were so on point with timing and organizing all movement - from first look photos through the end of the reception. Max constantly made sure I was drinking water & that my makeup still looked good. The wedding was perfect, and I credit Ivan & Max for that. I am so happy with our decision to get married at The Fives and loved every minute our time spent down there.

    Best Wedding Experience Ever!

    My wife and I got married at the The Fives on March 1st and it was such an incredible experience. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is generally amazing (a couple dishes were meh, but those were the exceptions). The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. It felt like it struck the perfect balance between nature and amenities. Walking through the cenote was always fun, being able to see monkeys, coati, birds, etc. There were so many different areas and pools for people to spend time at which meant that there were always options. If you want a busier atmosphere - there's the Infinity pool. If you want more laid back and quiet, there's the adults only pool. For our wedding itself, we couldn't have been happier. The venue was gorgeous, and the people we worked with (Ivan, Max, Eduardo, and Jimmy to name a few) were absolutely amazing. Our guests raved both about the resort and the wedding events themselves. Best decision we made was choosing The Fives!

    Beautiful resort with great food and service

    This was our second time here, two years in a row! This resort is everything we wanted, but we are easy to please because all we want is the pool and sunshine. The food is lovely, the rooms are great, the staff is wonderful. We had no issues the whole week we were there. We came for our honeymoon last January and came back this past January with my wife's Mum for a girl's trip! It being her first time, she had a blast and enjoyed every second. There were definitely people upset that the dinner buffet was not open, though the week we were there was relatively quiet, and we heard that the week after was super busy. Apparently the buffet opened up shortly after we left, and we would've loved to have that as an option (it was open during our first visit) but we survived. Restaurant reservations were no longer a thing either but we prefer to eat earlier (before 6pm) so we never had issues waiting. We love this resort.

    Wonderful family resort.

    Nice resort. Very clean and well maintained. The food had a lot of variety and was very good. Beach and pools were nice and clean. We had a great time. We took our whole family to this resort. 8 kids ranging 22 to 8. Everyone had a wonderful time and were able to find things to eat and do all week.

    An Excellent All-Round Family Resort

    The Five Beaches has 4 or 5 hotels and I do think a couple of the reviews here are confusing this resort with the one next door. Overall we had an excellent holiday and both the resort and the staff were really good. Like any holiday, you read the reviews first and we were a little apprehensive especially about the ´food situation´and the lack of ability to book a specific time. This, however, for most evenings was never a problem for us but then we eat late normally anyway so getting into a restaurant from 8.30/9pm was our normal eating window. Maybe for families with young children this would have been an issue. Like any places there are pros and cons so hopefully I can do the resort justice but of course point out a few things for future travellers. PROS: All staff were amazing, Wendy at the Sea Olive/Abrezzo, Diego at the Japanese and Dani at Lizzards and Koh Thai. Also a big shout out to our cleaning team especially Amanda. The food is excellent, we ate in Koh Thai, Japanese, Sea Olive, Lizzards, Muele Ocho and one night in Abrezzo´s. This was the only bug bear as we could never get into this restaurant but we did have special treatment on our last night so thank you Wendy for organising this:) And the french Le Brassaire was a great choice for breakfast. Lots of different choices for everyone and pop up places on the beach for day time too. You won't go hungry! The Cantina was also a great bar to go to and the guys in there worked really hard to please a mountain of people. The Gym is great and we used it every day. All pools were great, the adult pool is heated which is a little strange at first as I am used to non heated pools :) We were always able to find sun loungers whatever time of day, more often on the beach than around the main pool. Upgraded to a 1 bed apartment which was great to have the space as my husband had to do some work while he was there too. We always had hot water Lots of entertainment if you like that sort of thing. CONS: The bed. For me I need a really firm mattress as I suffer with sciatica so the foam filled type of mattresses really hurt my back. I did ask the guys to flip the mattress which they did so it was a little better but I still didn't get the best night´s sleep whilst we were there. Lots of wedding parties, which could be disruptive and noisy if you were trying to relax. Some days there were 2 weddings parties which was a little OTT. The rooms were a little tired but functional and all facilities are there. Trips were expensive but then I have found out since that PDC is really expensive too. We have been in many 5 star resorts over the world so I would probably class this as more of a 4 star rather than a 5 star and that´s probably to do with the bed rather than anything else. Although we probably wouldn't come back as the resort was too big for our usual type of holidays. (We had booked this with a British Airways Holiday package) but we enjoyed our holiday and after our 26 hour travel back home are already missing the sunshine:)
