Very Disappointed
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! While the spacious room and daily cleaning were the only positives, everything else about this hotel was a disaster. We booked this place because it was advertised as an adult-only hotel, but to our surprise, there were children If we had known this in advance, we would have booked elsewhere. The service, especially in the restaurants, was atrocious. All three restaurants are à la carte, even for breakfast, and only one opens in the evening. Food often came out cold, and on multiple occasions, it arrived at completely random times—fries before the main course or long after. The minimum wait for food was 30 minutes, and more than once, they brought out the wrong order. Breakfast on the rooftop was particularly chaotic. One day, it opened late, and after waiting 20 minutes, we were told they didn’t have most of the items we ordered. We had to go downstairs for breakfast, where they had everything—so why couldn’t the rooftop staff restock from downstairs? One morning, I ordered poached eggs on toast, and the toast came 15 minutes before the eggs. The lack of coordination was infuriating. Adding to the rooftop issues, there were no showers by the rooftop pool to rinse off after swimming, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Sunbeds were another nightmare. There aren’t enough for the guests, and staff will give away your sunbed if you’re not back within 30 minutes. We couldn’t even enjoy lunch or a swim without constantly worrying about losing our spot. The service overall was beyond disorganized. Waiters and staff were running around like headless chickens, completely clueless about what they were doing. For seating of 50-60 people, there were only 12 menus, so we had to wait for menus to become available. At the main reception bar, there were at least three times when no one was serving drinks, forcing us to go to the beach bar. Worse, they frequently ran out of beer, whiskey, and vodka, and the staff didn’t bother to fetch supplies from another bar. The reception service was equally terrible. No one ever picked up the phone when we tried to call. When we wanted our laundry collected, we were told we had to bring it down to reception ourselves! Even after voicing our concerns to the manager, nothing seemed to improve. This hotel is in dire need of competent management and a complete overhaul of its operations. The false advertising about being an adult-only hotel was just the icing on the cake. Save yourself the frustration and stay elsewhere. To add majority of the guests were voicing similar complaints

Great to be back
We always enjoy the Fives Oceanfront. The location is one of its greatest assets. Having stayed at many resorts in and around the area. With the great town of puerto Morelos being right there you get the best of both worlds. Upon check-in this time we noticed a massive staffing change. When ever I see this I worry that something bigger is going on and have concerns of the level of service. There are plenty of new faces and obviously some growing pains. But the level of service is still there. Just sometimes it comes a little slower. Food is great at lunch and you can’t beat Al mare for dinner, roof top is great for breakfast and lunch as well. ( would be nice if you can eat by the pool ) Drinks are always good. Being able to get a bottle of beer is key ( especially if you are on the AI plan) Bartenders at pool/beach and upstairs take their jobs to heart and do a great job We LOVE the beach and the service on the beach is worth the AI package alone. Sadly it was really windy and the beach wasn’t an option for most of our days this time. I think the biggest concern for people is seating by pools and beach. Chairs are a hot commodity and usually gone by 7am. Simply put they need to put in more chairs. It’s might end up being a bit tight in some areas but more beach/pool/ top pool chairs should be on the Christmas list. Also get back the reggae music by the Romarley beach club/pool. It has changed to elevator music by the pool which I find really kills the vibe that we all loved about it. In the end we will definitely be back and plan to continue to come back unless there is a drastic drop in quality ( fingers crossed doesn’t happen ) We Love the Fives and the town!

Not a peaceful visit
I recently stayed at The Fives Oceanfront Hotel in Puerto Morelos, and while it has its strengths, there were several aspects that left me feeling disappointed. **Noise and Uncontrolled Environment** One of the most glaring issues was the excessive noise and lack of control over the environment. The property is far from serene, with loud music blaring from various spots throughout the day and night. It felt more like a party resort than a peaceful getaway. The noise levels were especially disruptive during the evening, making it difficult to relax or enjoy a quiet moment. If you’re looking for a tranquil experience, this is not the place for you. **Food Quality: Hit or Miss** The food was another area that left me conflicted. The quality seemed random, with some meals being surprisingly good, while others were bland or overcooked. For a resort of this caliber, I expected more consistency in the culinary offerings. A lot of the time, it felt like the dining options were more about quantity than quality. **Wedding Location Disappointment** For those considering The Fives for a wedding, be warned that the location is far from ideal. The area designated for ceremonies is poorly situated, offering little in terms of privacy or scenic appeal. It doesn’t have the same magical, intimate vibe you’d expect from a destination wedding venue. If a beautiful backdrop and tranquility are essential for your big day, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. **Room Condition: Needs Maintenance** The rooms were decent, but definitely in need of some TLC. I’d rate them a 7/10. The furniture showed signs of wear, and the bathrooms, while functional, could use a little more attention. It's clear that the property is due for some maintenance to bring it up to the level you'd expect from a luxury resort. Additionally, the single-pane windows were a big downside. They provided minimal sound insulation, which meant the constant noise from outside—whether it was music, conversations, or general resort activity—could easily be heard in the room. This made it even harder to escape the chaotic environment, especially when trying to relax or sleep. **Beach and Grounds** On a positive note, the beach was very well maintained. The sand was clean, and the water was beautiful. The resort’s grounds overall were also in good shape, which provided a nice backdrop for the resort’s chaos. **Staff: Efforts Not Enough** While the staff genuinely tried to be helpful, it often felt like their efforts were in vain. They seemed overwhelmed and undertrained at times, offering service that was more about going through the motions than providing true hospitality. They reminded me of a screen door on a submarine—doing their best, but ultimately unable to handle the bigger challenges the resort faces. Overall, The Fives Oceanfront Hotel could be great with some serious improvements. However, as it stands, it doesn’t live up to the expectations one might have for a luxury destination. If you’re looking for a quiet, high-quality experience with reliable service, you may want to consider other options.

Beautiful Hotel, perfect for relaxation
We were a total of 5 women/friends who went the last week of November to relax and enjoy the beach. We were in 2 rooms. 3 of us shared a one bedroom suite (free upgrade) that was appreciated. The place is as described, small boutique Hotel that you can do all inclusive and European meal plan. The Beach is beautiful, water is warm and there is a constant daily cleanup of the algae, so you are never bothered by it. There are a total of 3 restaurants, all a-la-carte - no reservations needed. The food is very good, there are some vegan/vegetarian options. One night we were there, they had a turkey dinner and they made a special plate for me, since I'm vegetarian. You get to know the staff, they are great and aim to please. All drinks are hand made and you can order almost anything. By 10 pm, everything is closed, so it's a quiet night. Not a place for kids, unless babies. There is not much for them to do. Here are the things that could be improved. There is a l major lack of beach chairs, both at the beach and rooftop pool. You have to get up early to get one and the staff say they can't be reserved more than 45 min but I didn't feel that was being monitored at all. The Beach beds are an extra cost. This one thing is what might keep me from going back. There is not much to do other than enjoy the beach and pool and when I was there, there were 13 loungers on the rooftop and 53 on the Beach. I heard there were two fights over chairs the day before I left, which didn't suprise me. Also I felt they could use a breakfast buffet of fresh fruit and pastries with a self serve coffee bar. Breakfast service was slow and should be reserved for those who want omelettes and special breakfast items. Last item I felt needed improvement is the sofa bed. All rooms are King beds. In my group of 3 we all took turns sleeping on the sofa bed, which was horrible. The mattress is old, springs stick in your back and was brutal to sleep on. Your sofa bed mattresses all need replacement with a nice memory foam mattress. The bed when I slept in it was so comfy. Otherwise change the max occupancy to 2 people. I would go back, as the place is super clean, the staff wonderful and the town is so pleasant and nice. A special shout out to Gustavo who is bringing activities for guests to do. I got to make bracelets, paint Mexican art. There is more as well.
