Thank you Daniel M
When we first arrived for our Second trip to the Hacienda we were very unhappy with our rooms one over looked a construction site and the other was dark and near the roadway. My sister and I brought friends this trip and felt bad about the beginning of our experience. We went to see Daniel M who we remembered from our last trip.He was kind and so helpful and we finally upgraded to pool view room. I highly recommend going poolside view, but these were not without faults. Every suite had a dragging front door and you had to slam them shut so if people came in late you heard them. The bathroom sink filled with water. Employees like Daniel M made the stay much better. The food was pretty good but the speciality restaurants were pathetic, such tiny portions. We loved the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The staff make you feel welcome and are very helpful

Disappointing experience
Poor service, plates of food left in stairwell for rodents to enjoy! Food was barely edible and drinks were watered down. Services as simple as clean towels were impossible to acquire. The short supply of staff, although pleasant , were ineffective and clearly frustrated. Needs a complete makeover.

Spend your $$ elsewhere - a 2* at best
This hotel is a 2* at best. It’s dirty, needs updating, needs decent food choices and better front end staff. It may have been decent back in the day but is showing wear and tear everywhere. Our experience started at the front desk. When we were registering they handed us a pack of papers and asked us to initial and sign them. When my husband started going through them the man became ignorant and told us that was confidential information about our booking and for hotel staff only. Then take the staple out and keep it for yourself - don’t hand it to me and ask me to initial and sign it. The second day we asked the front desk for pool towels, where would we go to get them? Gaspar had no desire to help us at all. Told us housekeeping didn’t have any. When we left the lobby an elderly couple told us there was a station that opened at 8 am and showed us where it was. The kind of thing you’d think your lobby staff would know. The food in the buffets is served on repeat, never warm let alone hot. Couches and lounges are soiled, pool chairs need replacing as they’re ripped and dirty. We saw an exterminator entering the sister property one day and commented that couldn’t be good. After searching for the sushi bar we came down in the elevator to find the exterminator coming out of a room on the second floor. Gross. People complained of mold in their rooms, air conditioners not working, dirty rooms and none of that was a surprise. There was an earthquake while we were there and no staff was available in the lobby at all to assist. Not a good feeling. Stay away, spend your money at another property.

Stay was just OK
This is our 2nd stay at the hacienda. It was the Hilton last time we stayed. First the good :as always the staff here are outstanding. Even the front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. This has not always been our experience in all inclusives in the past. The waiter Caesar, at the covered pool was excellent as were the breakfast staff. We chose to stay at the adult side so that we could relax around the pool without loud music. Unfortunately, even at what used to be the quiet pool, the music was loud repetitive and annoying . The resort needs to learn to “read the room”. Everyone around the covered pool was over 50 and were either reading or napping. Certainly not enjoying the loud music. The main pool, steps away had different music playing that was not as repetitive and annoying. Why this resort would choose not to offer a quiet area is hard to understand. The room was large and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The noise on the adult side ended at 11 pm so that is appreciated for those of us who go to bed early. The beach is nice here although the water is almost always rough but that is true of most of PV. The location is great. We could walk to the Malecón in about one hour. There are several malls and a Walmart within a 10 min walk as well. The food at the buffet is mediocre at best and basically the same every day. The specialty restaurants were better with the French and Italian being our favourites. I like that you can book your reservation each day online so as long as you remember to do this before 10am you can eat at the specialty restaurants as many times as you like, I feel like the quality of food at most all inclusives in PV has gone downhill since Covid. If you are too particular about food then I think you will enjoy the resort. Our biggest complaint was the music at the covered pool.

Still love it but needs improvement
This was our third stay at the Hacienda. We have loved it here in the past but this time we found that some things have deteriorated and general maintenance is not being done. While the rooms are beautiful and we had no issues with ours, we heard complaints from several people about maintenance issues in their rooms that were never resolved. Where we really noticed the lack of maintenance was in the common areas such as lobbies. Furniture in these areas is very worn and often stained, in both the Hacienda side and the resort side. Lounge chairs around the side pool at the Hacienda (not the main pool) are quite dilapidated, with broken frames and torn seats and need replacing. Public washrooms are often out of service and need fixtures replacing. Food in the buffet and ala cartes was fine, although perhaps not to the level of past years. But we still enjoyed our meals. The pool is beautiful but getting lounge chairs around the pool is a real issue when the resort is busy. It’s ridiculous to have to go down at 6 or 7am to get a chair. Every so often they send security around to remove towels and other items that are being used to reserve chairs, quoting their no reserve policy, but it’s not done consistently so people just keep doing it. One problem is that they allow people who are staying on the resort side to use the Hacienda pool if they purchase an upgrade or book a suite on the resort side. If it were just people staying at the Hacienda who could use the Hacienda pool there would be no problem. The one thing that has not changed is the staff. They are wonderful. Everyone, no matter what their position is, greets you with a smile and friendly greeting. Special thanks go out to the following people who have made our stays so special. In the Hacienda breakfast and lunch buffets Emma, Marissa, Antonio, Manuel; around the pool Cesar, Carlos, Luis; in Sea Fire Nancy and her captain (so sorry have forgotten his name), Raymondo and Anjelica; concierges Daniel, Carlos and Elizabeth, valets Santos and Carlos. And of course Dominique. Thank you all.
