We were in the best hands during our stay
We are already thinking about our return trip to Tenerife and our plans to return to this property. The level of service is unmatched Every encounter was a memorable. We stayed in a suite overlooking the ocean and courtyard and it also offered stunning views of the property. The breakfast buffet which is included in the stay does not quite measure up to the experiences that we’ve had at other Spanish hotels like Iberostar, but there was an extensive selection. Seating felt a bit cramped at times, likely because it was “included”. We also dined at one of the restaurants on site and use room service. There’s both self parking and valet parking available. This becomes important for those who enjoy exploring. Several black sand, beaches and natural pools are only a short drive away. The Abama beach is perfect place to watch the sunrise or build sandcastles.

A beautiful property
My husband and adult son stayed here for 5 nights. It is a lovely property…very large with several pool choices, tennis, golf and a small beach accessed by a hotel provided 5 minute shuttle ride. There is a hotel operated beach club near the beach. As a high level Marriot loyalist we were upgraded to a large lovely suite with a table and chairs, sofa (very low to the ground) and club chair. There was a balcony from the living room and one from the bedroom. The bathroom had two sinks, a separate stand alone shower and tub and toilet area with bidet. There were plugs and electronic ports throughout including bedside. The beds were quite comfortable and the linens were nice. Our son had a more standard room and he said that it was nice as well. We had a nice check in experience with Fatima. All of the staff that we encountered were nice. My son enjoyed the pool experience each day and we did for two days and explored the island the other two days. Tenerife is an interesting place. Breakfast is a large buffet that is quite extensive but it definitely feels like a large cafeteria experience. We ate dinner on property two nights at Verona and El Mirador. Verona was mediocre and El Mirador was better quality. Unfortunately we could only get a late night reservation at El Mirador so no beautiful sunset view. Restaurants book up quickly so if you want to eat on-site make your reservations. Though we were only offered an 8:30pm reservation at Verona two days prior, when we got to the restaurant at 8:15pm it was almost half empty. Our experience was similar at El Mirado. Strange. Also book your spa services early. We were there in November and though the weather was warm and partly sunny/sunny each day…..per the hotel staff winds were blowing in from the sub Sahara and the air was very very dry. My son experienced sinus headaches and we experienced dry eye issues. I don’t know if this is typical. The rooms and hotel are very nicely maintained and the landscaping is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and if you are interested in a nice European resort with a warm climate in late fall and winter it is a very lovely place. I wish there was a 4.5 rating option.

Mixed Experience at the Ritz-Carlton Abama
The hotel is situated in a stunning location, but my experience was somewhat mixed. The room was spacious and comfortable, although slightly outdated for what one would expect from a luxury property. The culinary offerings left much to be desired. The coffee tasted very commercial, more suited to a generic tourist hotel than a 5-star establishment. The pastry selection felt industrial and lacked the freshness and quality one might anticipate at this level. Considering the cost of the stay, I believe there’s room for improvement, especially in terms of quality and attention to detail. For the price, I expected a more impressive and authentic experience

Excellent service from Sharda at Great British Nannies
Sharda from Great British Nannies looked after our daughter one evening and her calm reassuring nature was welcomed as this was our first time using a nanny abroad. She gave us the perfect amount of updates throughout the evening and was professional throughout the experience. We would highly recommend Sharda to other families visiting the resort.

Perfect Paradise In Tenerife
Returning again to ABAMA is like coming home. A warm welcome at front desk as always, a beautiful suite with welcome wine and canapés. Just perfect. Excellent Marriott loyalty recognition. Great sunny balcony with views to the sea, golf course and banana fields. ABAMA stands out as an amazing resort hotel with all you require for a relaxing holiday. Rooms are beautiful with luxury linens throughout. Breakfast is exceptional: Eduardo improves the offer of great quality food and excellent presentation each visit, with his lovely team of smiling chefs. Angel, Maria and Marcus all deliver best hospitality at breakfast with special mention to Nora, and Ines, our amazing servers. The Spa is world class, an oasis of peace and tranquility with amazing treatments by Raquel, Roseanna and Domingo. Thankyou. There is a choice of restaurants within the hotel with El Mirador and Verona, our favourites. Nearby Playa San Juan and Alcala, offer a local Canarian feel, worth a visit. Gardens, flora and fauna are beautiful. Staff around the pools are very attentive with complimentary sunscreen. The ABAMA golf complex offers restaurants and spa Sandara too, with fabulous vistas. A five star resort with great staff guarantees a special holiday every time. Thank you.
