    What a great holiday!!

VENTUS! What a great vacation. We had a ,Queen double, pool and water front room. Our room was on the first floor. Which is great for us seniors. Less stairs, walk off balcony to access pool. No early morning rush to set up towels on chairs. Platinum level, gifts you two Butlers. One daytime, one nights, till 11pm. We lucked out, with Are and Manual! These two gentle, kind, hardworking men are amazing. They are always so busy, yet go above and beyond to make sure your holiday is everything you want. Always made sure our reservations were what we wanted, and changed them when asked. And provided rides, when asked or when rain showed up unexpected. Our room comforts and our home for 2 weeks were expertly looked after with collaboration with Marco, our chamber man, along with chamber maids. We were well taken care of. We loved our meals. We were not fans of the main Buffet at Marina. We were happy that the Italian and French restaurants served Buffet breakfasts. Loved Aromas coffee shop and Delores food court for lunch. What an array of choices for food. So many pools to pick from. From noisy to quiet. But the real gems here are the people who work here. From concierge, bell people, drivers, cleaners, waitresses & waiters, entertainers, cooks, ground keepers, shop keepers etc. Amazing!! Please tip!! They work hard. Thank you all!! We will return.

The best resort - no questions

My friend and I had such an amazing time. I go back every year - it was my friends first time there. I always request building 23 - it’s so central and amazing. Are and Manuel made our experience incredible. They were so attentive, fun, and helpful! Thank you El Cid staff - especially Are and Manuel!

    Worth a return trip

We loved it here! We have already booked our trip to go back in April. The atmosphere is incredible. Our room was amazing and everyone is so incredibly helpful and friendly. Doraly was our concierge and was amazing at her job and such a lovely person. She is one of the main reasons we decided to become members. We had Enrique and Gonzalo as our butlers and they we always there to help us with our needs and reservations. They went above and beyond to make sure our trip was memorable. We look forward to seeing them again. We enjoyed the resturants with the exception of the marina which was too hot and very uncoordinated with service. It was the off season so I'm sure they have it straightened out now. We booked a fishing charter and didn't care for that experience as we caught only one fish and roasted in the sun for 4 hours. The skipper was awesome but captain could have easily turned the boat and given us shade but stuck to his course and we suffered for it. I had a spa day and that was amazing! The sauna and whirlpool combination is great! I am looking forward to my next spa experience! See you soon!

I Was in Hell in Paradise

I went to the resort in desperate need of rest and relaxation. I was picked up at the airport and escorted to the resort. I chose the resort , because I had been there before and it is a lovely place. After being greeted by Andres, my consierge, in the lobby, I was escorted to my room by a bellboy. We entered the room, I was impressed, but there was a bizarre odor in the room. The bellboy said it smelled like varnish. It was strong and disconcerting. Another thing I noticed was that the room was freezing. I raised the thermostat to 28C (82.4 F) and when the room didn't warm I called maintenance. The man said to leave it on 28 fo a few hours and if there were no change to call back. Well there was no change I called back 2X and no one came, So I turned off the A/C. When I woke up, everything was wet, the walls, the floor, the mirror, the glass doors, the room still had a petro chemical smell, and I developed a horrible cough. The next day, they came to fix the A/C, and said the smell was "humidity" . At this point, I was in breathing distress and had to see the onsite doctor, Evidently I had an asthmatic attack brought on by a reaction to something in that room. The doctor said to change the room. I asked at the front desk, and they were not very helpful. I kept getting sicker and sicker, I saw the doctor four times in 6 days. By the 5th night of a 7 night stay, they changed my room. Mind you, I am not a complainer, but when someone is in respiratory distress caused by an allergic reaction the hotel staff should have acted immediately. So that vaction that I so desperately needed became a living hell.
