Disappointing Experience – Poor Service & Limited Dining Options
Disappointing Experience – Poor Service & Limited Dining Options My stay at Villa del Palmar Cancun was frustrating due to poor service, long waits, and limited dining options. When my flight was canceled, I asked the front desk for assistance, but instead of being helpful, they only offered an expensive option with no flexibility or understanding. It felt like they were more focused on making money than actually helping guests. I also booked a new room through Expedia after the front desk promised it would be ready by 1 PM due to my child’s sensitivity to the water. However, after booking, they changed their response and told me I couldn’t check in until much later. This lack of honesty and organization was extremely frustrating. The dining situation was another major issue. The buffet was closed twice a week, and if you didn’t book a restaurant in advance, you were left with no food options. On the days it was open, the buffet wait times were unreasonably long, with at least a 30-minute wait every morning just to get a table. This is not what I expected from a resort that promotes relaxation and convenience. Overall, my experience was disappointing. Lack of customer service, misleading information, long wait times, and poor dining availability made my stay stressful rather than enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend this resort to those looking for a smooth and accommodating vacation.

Not worth the $$$$
I would like to give zero stars, but won’t because of a couple of lovely people. We have stayed in multiple all inclusive and this was without question, the most underwhelming experience we’ve had over the last 15 years. This is absolutely not at 4.5 star resort. Key takeaways: - we arrived in the evening after an 11 hour travel day. We were booked in the wrong room. We had booked a two bedroom suite and one room should have had two beds. Berenice at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. Asked to speak with the manager. Eduardo was also unhelpful and bordering on rude as well(and Berenice was reluctant to get him). Eduardo said he would get us a cot at no charge (which we ultimately had to request because he did not). - not knowing that we speak Spanish, Berenice began speaking about us in Spanish to her colleague. It was rude and gross. Once we pointed out that we understood what was being said, her colleague apologized, Berenice did not. - one of the bedrooms was full of ants. FULL. Drawers. Bathroom. Bed - all of it. This was also following housekeeping being in and cleaning. - if you’re attending this resort, be sure to make dinner reservations weeks in advance. If not, you are going to the buffet which requires a wait of up to 45 minutes even when the tables are half empty. The hostess was rude both nights we were there and she was overwhelmed by the line. Or room service, of course. - breakfast buffet specifically, - be prepared to wait more than 30 minutes. And they are frequently out of food. - pool chairs - completely full by 7am. Was told by the pool concierge to come down by 5am if we wanted “good” seats. Or pay the concierge for the seats. - made the mistake of speaking with the concierge in an effort to book an excursion. This meant they woke us two days in a row to attend the timeshare presentation. Do not stop there unless you are serious about timeshare interest. - in general, all of the hosts were exceedingly slow and wait times were astonishing. - there is nothing to do at night. Truly. Nothing. - positives: Adrian at Legends Bar - a superstar. Daniel at the front desk was a lovely human.

Friendly Paradise
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Del Palmar! My wife and my six year old son and myself could not have been happier with our decision to stay here. We did a lot of research and finally decided to make our trip here and so glad we did. The staff could not have been friendlier. We were greeted at every meal and by every employee with friendly smiles. We felt like we were at home. The waiters were joking with my son and calling him king and making him smile. It is also the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed and our main reason for choosing this resort over the others. Some of the others looked just plain and had lots of concrete white Villa Del Palmar has unique charm, lots of palm trees, and a great flow to its grounds. At night it really lights up nice and looks even more beautiful! The food was very good too. We enjoyed all the restaurants but Davino’s really stood out and some of the better Italian I’ve had. They were all great. The breakfast buffet is amazing and my son loved it. The only thing we didn’t love was the dinner buffet at capricio’s but the steak and Mexican restaurants and even the snack bar were all great. We never went to legends. The drinks weren’t that strong but just ask for an extra shot and you will be good. I didn’t wish they had more margaritas or tequila drinks that were most interesting. The music by the pool and the kids club were good too. My son didn’t want to leave the kids club the one day he went. There were not a ton of activities but we never cared and kind of just wanted more peace and tranquility and that’s what we got. My son never once got bored even though there were not a ton of kids activities and the kids pool didn’t have a bunch of slides or anything outstanding he still had a blast. Our room was beautiful for the price and very spacious. We got the room with the bedroom and the kitchen and was well worth the small extra price. We thought for the beauty of the place, the large room, the friendly staff, and the great food it was well well worth the price. We will definitely be coming back!!

A luxurious week!
My husband and I had the most incredible week at this resort! From the moment we checked in we felt so spoiled and taken care of by all the incredible staff. Every member we encountered was incredible, but a special shout out to Alexis & Willy who were our servers for brunch during our final days of the trip. They went above and beyond to make our breakfasts special and we will certainly remember their smiling faces and the enjoyment we got from chatting with them. :) Thank you both!! All the restaurants exceeded our expectations - the food and drink quality at this resort is top notch and definitely worth the drive out of the "hotel zone". We are both "foodies" and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the all inclusive package. Room, pools/hot tubs and spa were excellent as well! Exceptionally clean at all times. The only knock we have is that the water pressure in the shower is a bit on the weak side, and the push for time share was a bit intense, but these were such minor things to us that did not negatively impact our feel of the hotel. The ferry to Isla Mujeres is conveniently located and makes for a perfect day trip as well. We are already dreaming of making a trip back here! Would recommend to anyone. :)

Better than hotels zone
Excellent family hotel! Very big and comfortable suits with big bedroom, huge balcony, separate living room, two bathrooms and laundry room. We even had a fully equipped kitchen although we were on all inclusive. Very nice restaurants with an excellent food. Very close to ferry to Isla Mujeres. Quiet time is at 10PM so you have a good sleep.
