Aggressive staff, heavy noise and flooded room
Woke up to concrete chiseling right on top of my room during my whole stay (photo attached). This heavy noise would start as early as 7:30am. Abraham (the manager) told me he would address this situation but he never did, and then he ignored my messages (screenshot attached) In the AC rooms, there’s a gap between the wall and the ceiling so you can literally hear everything from the neighbouring rooms. The hot water worked twice in the whole week. My last day I woke up to a flooded room due to an overnight rain (it was the only room that flooded, photo attached). I asked for a refund for that last night and Abraham responded aggressively telling me to leave the place. When I talked to the owner she made ridiculous comments such as “can you not swim?” and “You should pay me more because of the damage to my furniture”. She also threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave immediately. Abraham never told me there was housekeeping service available every day. He was also unable to give me even 5 mins to pay so I wasn’t able to stay in the room I was meant too.

A 5 star vacation on a 2 star budget
We had a wonderful stay at the Villa Luna de Miel. Don't get me wrong, this is not a fancy hotel but we had a great experience. The staff was very helpful and aimed to please. We got clean towels and house cleaning daily and clean linens every 3 days. I suggest bringing a face cloth and small hand towel as they only provide bath towels. There is a 20L bottle of drinking water in the room for $20 pesos and a mini fridge to cool down your drinks. There is a portable fan and no air conditioning or screens. The mosquitoes and bugs are active at dawn and dusk so don't forget to apply insect repellent. Also ear plugs are necessary to drown out the roosters, dogs and party music and drums. A headlamp or flashlight is also necessary after dark. The beach is just a short walk down the street and the town is lovely and loaded with about 50 restaurants and bars and juice stops and cafes all within 5 minutes. The beach is fabulous, and you only need to buy a few beverages to get use of the beach umbrellas and chairs provided by the many restaurants on the beach. If you prefer, you can purchase an umbrella and blanket and there is tons of room on the beach. Mazunte is a lovely town to spend your vacation. There is a lovely walk to the ridge to enjoy the sunset . The view from the room is fabulous and worth the flight of 80 stairs to get there.

Fantastic place !
Good location 5 min walk from the beach surrounded by small shops and restaurants. The location is perfect, very close to the main road but still set back so you feel like you live in the jungle and avoid the noise of the village. Breathtaking view of the sea, the best sunrises and sunsets in Mazunte are here! There's also bit of noise from roosters and dogs in the morning. One night we also heard some crazy loud party from one of the beach bars. It's something the hotel cannot control, but it's probably good to know.

Amazing place
We stayed in upper floor bungalow and we simply loved it! The room is spacious, the view -incredible, the bed is huge and mattress very comfy, everything is clean, the attention is excellent, and there was even hot water in the shower (not necessary). There were barely any mosquitos at this time but just in case the bed has beautiful mosquito net. We were traveling with small children so I was little bit worried about any possible insects as the bungalow is completely opened, bet thankfully we had none. Our friends stayed at ground floor bungalow and had a tarantula-like spider on the bedside table, so you should be aware that jungle is right there just outside the door. Villa Luna de miel has great location, 5minutes walk to the beach and many many restaurants right there, but still little bit uphill so you get some distance from those charming village noises at night. (Don’t forget to stop by Beatrice’s bakery “La baguette” 😋, but for the BEST Italian coffee and ice cream go to “Los duendes” with Sandra.) overall we loved our stay at Mazunte, the place is truly magical and I am dreaming to go back already.
