Perfect Stay
Absolutely fabulous stay! This is our 3rd time at this resort and it just gets better and better. The rooms are posh, the views magnificent. Service was outstanding and all of the food was wonderful. The Lobby Bar was wonderful as well (check out Arturo's Espresso Martini's!)

Beautiful Property, policies not customer focused.
Spent 7 days at Villa La Valencia in Cabo. Beautiful property and nicely appointed rooms. We booked through Costco and it took us over an hour to check in. We requested two rooms with two queens in each and they had us in 2 Kings. The gentleman at the desk did his best but it took forever after a very long travel day. Once we got our rooms, we had to sit and listen to an Indoc or code for sales pitch for the timeshares. We said “no thanks” many times we finally just got up and left. We did not buy inclusive, we got there so late we were so hungry we ate in the main restaurant. It was a buffet and cost $80.00 per person!!! The prices at the resort restaurants were ridiculous. Once we figured our way around, we ate mostly at the pool or took an Uber into town. We only got complimentary coffee in the room and two bottles of water on the first night. For the cost of the resort, I would think coffee and restock on 2 bottles of water should have been the right thing to do in a place you are told not to drink the water. The pools, lay river and hot tubs were great and the front line staff were wonderful. You could not get into the water which I should have researched due to the currents. I would not return.

Conversational Spanish class
I attended a conversational Spanish class led by Mike, one of the staff of Villa la Valencia. Mike has many years of experience as a teacher, and he was very encouraging to adult learners who were uncomfortable or embarrassed by their challenges in learning Spanish. The class is targeted for interactions with the resort staff, such as housekeeping or dining services. I was not a beginner, but I still learned new things about these daily interactions. Moreover, Mike adapted to my more intermediate level of Spanish by adding questions, interactions, and recitations that focused on my learning level. I highly recommend participating if you get the opportunity.

The Staff Make All the Difference!
My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights in late December 2024. This was our first time here, but not our first time at a Villa property in Mexico. Here are the STAFF I'd like to highlight: --The staff are the best around!! They are hard working, friendly, and they aim to please. It's not an easy job. --I would like to especially mention Hector, the housekeeper who cleaned our room every day. He was very friendly and personable and I enjoyed talking to him every day. He did a great job cleaning our room. --Manuel on the Activities team and water aerobics crew was also very friendly and eager. I enjoyed chatting with him after the class and whenever I would bump into him at the lazy river station. He is funny and radiates warmth. --Daniel and Alejandro were our frequent pool servers. Very professional, FAST, and hard -working. It's been weeks since we left and I still have strong memories of these individuals. I wish they were my neighbors! I miss them! POOLS: --I very much appreciate it when resorts have an adult pool that is respected, which is the case here. We do not travel with children so we appreciate a quiet area where we can enjoy the pool and do some reading without children making noise nearby. There are enough pools here that children don't tend to end up here. We did have a few kids in this pool here and there. It would be an improvement to have more signs that indicate that this is the adult pool. It's on the resort map but it should also be indicated by a sign at the pool itself as a reminder. --I appreciated the resort's towel system. Many resorts I've been to make this overly complicated and bureaucratic, but not so here! Towels are available without having to show "tickets" or paper cards that are easy to misplace or lose. --There are lots of hot tubs throughout the property, which makes it easier to find one that isn't overly crowded. --You can't beat the infinity pool in terms of its view. It lives up to its name. However, that makes it the most crowded and active pool, which means it's hard to get a lounger. I'd like to see the resort implement a better system to identify those "chair thieves" who reserve loungers but don't show up for hours at a time. I think there was some oversight of this but maybe it needs to be more obvious so that people comply. --The lazy river is a real gem, as almost all reviewers say. There's just nothing else like it. We appreciated the staff who helped us get into and out of the inner tubes because we definitely needed assistance. --We especially LOVED the class that meets in the morning in the lazy river that has you walking AGAINST the current. That is a BRILLIANT use of this space and it's a great workout. Kudos to the staff for coming up with this idea. CHECK-IN --The check-in process was fairly smooth and we got lucky as we were attended to upon arrival. --I wish the check-in process was a little less bureaucratic. I felt like there were many steps, photos, documents, etc. to comply with -- some of which could be done in advance or in a more efficient manner. --We met with concierge Sergio right after checking in, and we got the impression he was going to be helpful to us throughout our stay but we never saw nor heard from him again. LOBBY / LOBBY BAR --The Christmas tree and decorations were lovely! --The lobby bar and bartender Kevin were wonderful. Gorgeous display. --The problem with the lobby is that it's an echo chamber. The sound reverberates like crazy. All it takes is one family with kids in the seating area adjacent to the bar and FORGET IT -- IT'S SO NOISY!!!! It just takes away from the adult bar experience. There needs to be some physical separation (a wall of plants, bookcases or something) between the bar and the lobby seating area to make it a place that you want to return to. --I recommend putting in more soft goods, rugs, etc. -- anything to absorb and keep the noise down when there are children hanging around that seating area. It really interfered with our desire to go to the bar. We wish we could have taken advantage of Kevin's talents more often. ROOM --We had a 9th floor one bedroom suite about which I have no complaints! (well, there's a bit of a wait for hot water, but that's because we were on the top floor; I'd rather wait for water than have a lower floor room) --The terrace was large and lovely, with a great view. --The room was well-equipped with everything we needed. All of the appliances were clean and modern. --We loved the Japanese toilet/bidet in the master bath! --I would have liked a better selection of English-language TV channels. This was kind of a disappointment. --We very much appreciated the small beside reading lights -- useful when one person is asleep and the other person wants to read. --We had no troubles with the WiFi. Thank you Villa La Valencia STAFF for making this a treasure of a resort. We will return!
