Stay away from Villas del Palmar Manzanillo
We booked this resort through RCI after reading reviews that are clearly for another resort. They did not have our reservation when we arrived and after much argument, rented us a room in a different villa for 2 nights. In trying to sort all of this out through RCI, we were required to move from that villa to a Studio Villa (we were also charged for it) that was a dump! With help from RCI we eventually left Manzanillo and arrived at our second destination in Puerto Vallarta 2 days early. Thank you RCI! We would not recommend Villas Del Palmar to anyone. The staff were rude and did not apologize for the mix up. The resort is old and tired and in need of many repairs. It is also not situated on a golf course as advertised!

Great place for family vacation
We spend 10 days here last July. It's a phenomenal place for a quiet family vacation. The facilities are old (1980's) but they are very well kept and in excellent condition. The beach club its a bit far, specially or elderly people or little kids, but you can still drive. All the pools in the buildings are great and you can almost always get a very decent place without saving spots. Great place for family vacation!

Disappointed
This place looks amazing in the pics, the pool area is beautiful. However.....we arrived at 4 PM after a loooong day of travelling. Guard would not let us in the main gate, and told us to drive to the back gate over a cobblestone hill about 1.5 miles. We could not find 2nd guard gate (because guard wasn't there & there were no signs to the gate or reception). We finally stumbled on reception, checked in, and asked for directions to room. She pointed to the hillside. No signs to room #s. There was an elevator but lots of steps to room, and no indication which level our room was on. Long story short, it took us over an hour to get from gate to room. AAARGH. Our room was clean but there was no hot water and only 3 of each dish. No potable water in room or on premises - unheard of for this part of Mexico. No amenities on site (store, restaurant, towel service, etc.). Pool area restrooms do not have Toilet tissue (visited all 3 pools). Desk could not tell us of restaurants in area. They also did not honor exchange rate and charged me cost from time of booking, even though I could have gotten a 2 bedroom condo for $50 less per night with the current exchange rate the day we arrived. So we explored. There is an awesome marina (Las Hadas Marina) with 2 excellent restaurants reasonably priced just north of the complex. Kioska store just off the main street before entering the hotel area. Best find, for a few dollars more per night we could have stayed at the Barcelo Camina Palace all inclusive right next door which is spectacular!!! We ended up paying the day fee and enjoying the amenities there instead of the Villas del Palmer.
