Beautiful and full of adventure
We had an awesome stay! The resort is gorgeous—beautiful grounds, amazing pool, and the beach was just stunning. Everyone was super nice, and our kids (5 and almost 3) had the best time. We mostly ate at Mitra Market because it was easy with the kids. They loved picking their own food. My husband and I had a little stomach bug one night, but it passed quick—bring some activated charcoal pills just in case. We had a hiccup with Swiss Travel (I don’t think the rep ever booked a ride for us), but Malon at valet was a total lifesaver and helped us rent a car. That actually worked out great—we drove to Diamante Sanctuary, then Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo the next day. Both were super cute! On our last day, we found Eric (blue shirt on the beach) who hooked us up with a private boat. Captain Stuart picked us up right from the beach. We cruised around, swam a bit, and it was the perfect way to end the trip. Would totally come back!

Highly Recommend Westin Reserva Conchal
The Westin is a beautiful property with well maintained grounds and very friendly staff. We spent 6 days there and would highly recommend it. We did zip lining, La Leona waterfall hike, ATVs, sloth sanctuary, Rio Celeste waterfall hike with coffee plantation, a catamaran sunset cruise. We tried to consolidate the the trips off the property as there’s quite a bit of driving involved. For our tours, airport transfers, general questions, we used Erik Garcia. He’s Erik on the beach, in a blue google shirt. His services are excellent and I highly recommend. His communication is extremely prompt. We had reached out to him before arriving, but he can take care of you upon arrival also. Again, highly recommend. Amenities and food on the resort were also excellent. We’ve travelled all over the globe and thought the food was very good. Pool is warm. Wildlife all around the resort. Ocean was refreshing. Excellent experience overall.

Nice family resort
I stayed here with my family of four including my husband and kids (8 and almost 5). Pros: Very family friendly. Lots of kids of all ages from toddler to teen. Lots of dining options of all types of food. We ate dinners at the buffet, the Mediterranean, the seafood and Italian. Staff was great - friendly and helpful. Beach is beautiful and good sized for a private resort. The waves were huge a couple of the days. Lots of shade and beautiful sunsets. The pool's large and has both a kind of party area and more of a low key family area. There are pool games like basketball and floats around. The beds were very comfortable and had great fluffy bed spreads. Even though we were close to the Imperial bar, our room was quiet and the sound proofing was great. Cons: The kids menus at the restaurants are much fancier than they need to be. My son was served green fettuccine and nearly lost his mind. It's sometimes hard to get waiter service at the pool. They seem to only be in one area. Towels are only available at pool, not beach. Jet skiers pulled up directly onto the beach where the majority of people were sitting. The buffet is really poorly laid out and hard to get all the stuff you need. Particularly tough when you're trying to get kids plates too. There is no coffee easily accessible except to pay for it at the coffee shop. This is a little nit picky, but our drinks were served in paper cups that kind of disintegrated when you drank them. This is definitely a big resort and felt like it could be anywhere, not necessarily Costa Rican or authentic feeling.

Great food, great service, great adventures.
Food was excellent, staff was beyond nice the whole trip. Eric and Samuel on the activity team put on an amazing iguana hike that is both humorous and educational. My family has been on many all exclusive and this was one of the best. We all agreed that we will be back.

Great (public) beach location and family atmosphere
We stayed at the Westin for the 2nd half of our recent Spring Break trip, and had a good time. Our group was two families with teens/tweens plus another couple. We booked in the family section, which had the inclusions of a family club and included premium beverages (a indicated by the color of bracelet). We had the king + sofa bed which worked well for our family of 3. The pool was large and had plenty of lounge chairs that you didn't have to get there super early to save a spot. There was also plenty of spots with shade and umbrellas as it was often a UV of 10+. The staff roamed looking for drink orders, but more often than not we went to the pool bar. The restaurants were good to excellent, but the biggest issue was getting a table for a group of 7+ people. The resort doesn't do reservations but for at Bamboo, so the first night we waited 30 minutes for the Italian restaurant and the second night we waited over an hour for the seafood restaurant...mostly because we were told to check back in 30 minutes, but when we were did we were told the table was given to another large group and we had to wait another 30 minutes. While not the worst thing that could happen on vacation, it certainly seems avoidable...though having another restaurant appear to be open in the app that didn't end up being open could have also solved the overcrowding issue that evening. Some of the highlights included the howler monkeys and iguanas that visit the pond in the family area each morning. We got so many pictures and got the hear the howl. Another highlight was the cocktail class with Carlos and Carlos - they were great hosts and teachers and made it super easy! We also booked a chefs dinner at The Cellar that was fantastic - the food was amazing and the service (even with a dropped bottle of wine) was some of the best we received. The chef did a great job making menu modifications for an allergy in the group, which was much appreciated. If you're looking for nightlight into the night, this resort may not be for you. Much of the resort shuts down by 11pm. But with the sun rising at 5:30AM, some early nights are also appreciated. The beach was AMAZING minus the vendors literal steps from the resort. Unfortunately, you walk through what we dubbed "the gauntlet" to get to the beach, but it somewhat is what it is as many folks purchased from the vendors and it is a public beach, both of which will keep them there. Overall, we'd go again and would definitely recommend a family concierge room or club room in the adults section - which some of our friends highly enjoyed.
