The Westin Conchal. Great Choice for Costa Rica Experience

Just returned from weeks stay at The Westin Reserva Conchal, Costa Rica. The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff is wonderful. We were impressed with the staff as it relates to their eagerness engage and provide assistance. -The hotel is located 90 minutes from the Liberia airport. The Westin can arrange for round trip transportation as part of your reservation. -The resort is huge but it's easy to explore via walking or using the shuttle vehicles that run through the resort. -The golf course is amazing. While we didn't play (due to too many other options to explore the surrounding area), it's certainly would be worth another trip. - There is an abundance of wildlife to encounter within the resort itself. Certainly, the main attraction is the Monkeys. They reside within the beautiful tree's and can be often spotted walking down the pathways. -There are two pool areas. The one large pool complex is located adjacent to the beach and the majority of the dining choices, The other pool complex is for Adult's only and is located within the Westin Club complex. - Regarding food options and quality. On both of these areas I would rate 4 stars out of five. We didn't have any exceptional meals, but certainly we had no issues. There are many choices however we found ourselves ending up in the Mitra Market which has more options and doesn't require reservations. Regarding reservations, be certain to download the resorts app. It's wonderful to use when making reservations and getting information on the resort's activities and amenities. Note that reservations for dining are "open" each Friday via the app. - Our accommodations were within the Westin Club portion of the resort (it has separate check in area). The smaller complex has two three story building with clubhouse within for check in and lounge area. The rooms are nice but not exceptional. (Note to Marriott Bonvoy Members. You will be noticed as each quest in the resort must wear wrist band to so designate what plan you're on, see the hotel website for more details. Bonvoy Members have white bands, and the staff will notice and acknowledge you for your loyalty, but that's about it) - Regarding tours. We did Zip Line, Waterfall Hike, River Rafting and ATV. All were amazing. We highly recommend you reach out to Erik Garcia (not affiliated with resort) or as he's known as the guy with the blue shirt at the entrance to the beach area. Discuss with him what you desire to see and do, how long you want to be gone for your excursion, (roads while good, can be busy and it's important to plan accordingly) and he will put together unique outing for your group. Just search for him via Google or Trip Advisor. - Final thoughts. resort very nice, service very good, food average, Erik G for tours amazing and Costa Rica -well so much to explore.

So glad we decided Westin Reserva Conchal Costa Rica!

We stayed at the Westin for a week and found the people friendly and the room clean. The restaurants were very good, and if you struggle with getting a reservation through the app, call the services desk for help! We enjoyed every meal and found the waitstaff to be very attentive. They offer free activities and we went on the bicycle tour around the property - everyday you will see monkeys, iguanas and coati - which is amazing! But the highlight of our visit was connecting with Erik G - Erick is on the beach every day wearing a blue shirt with Google on it. He uses WhatsApp, is super attentive and coordinated our hotel transfer and 2 amazing excursions - one to Rio Celeste including the waterfall, sloughs, coffee and chocolate tour. Our other excursion was to Palo Verde to see crocodiles, white faced monkeys and tons of beautiful birds. Both excursions included a delicious authentic lunch. Both tours were private and the guides really did a great job. I highly recommend booking with Erik G. All in all the resort was great, food delicious, excursions amazing and we are so happy we made this trip!

    Very responsive to reviews

After downgrading my rating for this resort I was so pleasantly surprised to be approached by the staff at the resort. First, they read the review, second they were concerned and responsive. This is a fabulous resort in a perfect location. When the staff care enough to address concerns that are posted it’s refreshing. The Costa Rican people are friendly, care deeply about their careers in the tourism industry almost as much as customer service and they are honest about their service to you. I had the pleasure of speaking in-depth with a hotel representative that took the time to look for me and discuss it. I’m not looking for hotel perks and I know no machine runs smoothly all the time. They are truly interested in making everyone’s stay a good one. Koodos to the Westin staff for reaching out quickly to the review and the items I identified as potential improvements. If you go and have questions or issues they will listen!

Luxurious relaxed beach resort with unique natural beauty!

Stayed at the beautiful Reserva Conchal Westin during our visit to Costa Rica. Location- Right on the Conchal Guanacaste beach, the resort is about an hour away from Daniel Oduber airport in Liberia. It’s an eco reserve. So you find tons of birds and animals within the place which reflects the rich bio diversity of the country. Service- The employees at the place provide world class service and always ready to help. Accomodation- We stayed at the family suite which was exceptional. It has a living area and bedroom within a villa. They have multiple such villas and also club suites. Everything is available within a call away on the phone. Since it’s all inclusive you can order food and drinks throughout the day. Facilities- They have huge swimming pools, Spa with sauna and whirlpools, tennis courts, pickle ball courts and entertainment areas. It’s a huge property but accessible through golf carts which are available most of the time. Food- They have breakfast, lunch and dinner available at Mitra market without reservations and few restaurants for dinner with reservations. Fruits are plenty and fresh since it’s in the tropics. Decor and plating is great at the restaurants but taste can definitely be improved especially at the sea food restaurant, Manglar. Bamboo(Asian restaurant) was decent. Again since it’s an all inclusive resort food is available most of the time and so are variety of drinks.

    We wanted for nothing

We truly had an amazing time. The property was gorgeous, the room perfect, the food fantastic, and best of all was the service. We literally wanted for nothing. Everyone was so helpful and kind. I think that just goes for Costa Ricans as a whole, from our experience. The grounds are set up to immerse you into what is the glorious natural beauty of Costa Rica. Every morning we sat on our porch having coffee watching the howler monkeys play in the trees above, the coati roam looking for food, the hummingbirds zip in and out of the flowering bushes.. at night we watched the bats swoop from the trees, the raccoons waddle on by, geckos and their cute little suction cup fingers, and listened to the magic sounds of the night creatures. We did a private tour, 2 actually, with Conchalfun!! This is a must. Andrei set us up to be picked up by boat right on the beach at the resort. We went snorkeling and saw the most beautiful fish. Then we zipped around and followed humpback whales that put on a show for us. The next day, he has Rodrigo pick us up at 6:30am for a day of hiking in the Rainforest and swimming in the Celeste River. We saw sloths, tucans, tree frogs, eyelash vipers, and learned so much about the history and culture. Rodrigo was very knowledgeable on it all. Definitely give them a call and avoid the big crowded busses and being on someone else's time!! It was all about us.
