Very poor Experience. Horrible Communication, Unprofesional service. Beware if you are a non timeshare owner.
We visited the Westin one time and won't go back. We booked the room online and followed up with a call. They told us a time it would be ready. It wasn't ready and the staff keep pushing it back multiple times from their original estimate. Ray Anna Bailey and Akillah Gilbert were at the front desk and they basically strung us along all day telling us "it will be ready soon"...this is a timeshare resort and they definitely don't have great service to non timeshare owners. Both kept smirking and huffing every time I asked a question throughout the day. One told me she was the manager and not sure about that. We checked in at front desk at 8:30am to see "if" we could get in early. They said there is a good chance. We said thanks and we didn't mind waiting for 3pm checkin but if we could get in early that is great. Here is how the afternoon went: 2 pm told us it would be an hour 3 pm told supervisor will check on room and should be ready soon 4pm stood at front desk asking for a legitimate time estimate 4:15 Akillah told me grab a cart and go get bags to go to room with the kids We got bags and dropped kids at the room. The cleaning staff wouldn't let us in and made my kids wait on the golf cart shuttle. They ended up sitting on a picnic table for over an hour. They had to have a "supervisor" approve it before letting us in. 4:45 told sweep, mop and line was left 4:55 told sorry again but not progress Waited for another 30 minutes and walked into room with cleaning people still there. Before the resort writes about what time check in was, I want to say this all started when they said a good chance to get in early. It escalated when it kept getting pushed back and basically was dishonest about the time because the cleaning crew was still there. On our departure they told us the cart was around the corner but we still had to wait 30 minutes. The delays were consistent. With all of this they offered me $250 credit for our inconvenience. I would have happily paid the full price just to get my family and bags in a room. When we checked out they told us the credit was only $150. They disagreed with my wife at checkout over the amount and wouldn't discuss it any further. They needed a supervisor to approve this and they weren't around. When we finally arrived at the room the sink was broken and it really wasn't clean. I'm attaching a video of the sink. For the price of this room, customers expect better. I understand things happen that are at times out of our control but this was a consistent them of poor management, poor communication, poor delivery of service. This stay was a comedy of errors. Disgruntled front desk when I was checking in when they told me. Bait and switch on the credit to get me to walk away. Excessive delays and untruthful time estimates when they knew better. I'm sure this may be a nice timeshare spot but as a non timeshare customer we won't be back and candidly expected more from a Westin property. I was completely surprised and the lack of transparency and the continued changing on comittments on time and then what they tried to credit us. If you are going to stay here be careful, get things in writing and be prepared to be less than impressed with the service. On a bright note the lady server at the restaurant by the beach was very nice. Since we couldn't get in the room we spent several hours with her and she did a great job. We loved St. John....but won't stay at a Westin, especially the one at St. John. I know I'm only one customer but I don't feel this was an isolated incident with this property.

Great visit!
I booked this for myself and my husband as well as another couple. I was so worried with all the negative reviews and warned everyone up front. We had a fabulous time! People couldn’t have been nicer, villa was great, ate lunch twice at the pool/beach area and was good. We went to the beach bar two nights and had a great time.Bartender was fabulous. Grounds are gorgeous. Would definitely come back. We were in a 3 bedroom villa with a pool. Water a bit too cold so didn’t unfortunately get to use the pool but was nice to have just the same.

2 bedroom 2 bath Westin St John Villa stay very enjoyable
We enjoyed everything about the Westin Villas and would definitely go back. Our group of 5 adults were all impressed with the Westin Villas. The actual condition of the villa was excellent and clean. We had housekeeping twice during our 5 night stay. The Westin supplied the basic items needed such as paper towels, dish soap, dish sponge that many other lesser time share villas would consider an extra charge for. We flew into St Thomas then took the private Westin Ferry over to the resort. Definitely recommend purchasing the private Ferry passes, it is worth it. It is a large boat with indoor air conditioned seating and also some outdoor seating. They take care of all your wheeled luggage (even the smaller carry on wheeled bags). Some advice for check in at the Westin lounge area in St Thomas baggage claim: 1) Divide up and conquer. Have 1 person wait at the luggage carousel for your checked bags while the other person goes over to the Westin lounge to check in. You will need to tell the Westin check in person how many bags. Count all your check in bags AND count your smaller wheeled carry on bags to get the right number of tags. I was only able to keep my purse and a small duffel bag with me. 2) It takes 1 hour by taxi van from the airport to the St Thomas boat dock where you board the private Westin Ferry to St John for about a 15 minute boat ride. They run a tight schedule and will not hold up the taxi van transportation. For example, if you are planning to catch the 515pm Westin private ferry then the taxi van leaves promptly from St Thomas airport at 415pm. If you don't have your luggage at 415pm then you will wait at the airport until 6pm taxi van transportation for the next private ferry at 7pm. If you are not ready to depart at 415pm in the taxi van (bathroom trip for example) then you will wait at the airport until 6pm taxi van transportation for the next private ferry at 7pm. 3) Our taxi van ride from the St Thomas airport on Wednesday at 415pm to the boat dock for 515pm private Westin Ferry was an adventure. We were told there was an accident/traffic on the main road so our driver would be taking the back road. The taxi van went through the hills on very curvy roads with steep inclines and declines, switch backs, etc. Air conditioning in that taxi van was suboptimal. While we were grateful to get to the dock in time for 515pm Ferry via the Westin arranged taxi van, some of us were terribly motion sick from the alternate route driven (despite sitting in the front row). My advice is to be prepared for the backroads driving route, especially if you are traveling around rush hour. Go ahead and pre-medicate yourself with motion sickness meds, sea bands, motion glasses and have a portable fan out for yourself if you are like me and have these issues. (or use whatever works for you) Ask to sit in the front. I did not take any meds as I was expecting the main road route that I've been on with previous trips. Our taxi van ride back to the St Thomas airport on Sunday was WONDERFUL. Nice big taxi sprinter looking vans from Chris limousine service. Great air conditioning, professional drivers and they took the main road back to the airport! I went ahead and premeditated myself due to my experience on the ride in (described above) but it was not necessary. Wish there was a way of knowing these things in advance, I was really dreading the ride back to the airport if we were taking the back roads. The grounds at St John Westin are well maintained. There is some wildlife around the grounds (deer at dusk, iguanas, and chickens) but we didn't bother them and they didn't bother us. The beach is well groomed each day. While the water isn't the beautiful blue-green you will see on the other side of the island past Cruz Bay, the beach chairs/umbrellas that are first come first served and convenience can't be beat. There were plenty of chairs available either at pool or beach, no need to get up at zero dark thirty to get a chair. The pool was well maintained and clean. Bathrooms next to the beach also climate controlled and maintained in a cleanly manner. Some in our group enjoyed the paddle boarding at the beach and others enjoyed the frisbee golf game on the grounds. Mango deli pre-order of groceries was wonderful, having a ginger ale in the villa refrigerator awaiting my arrival helped with the motion sickness. We also had some breakfast basics preordered and stocked in our villa which helped with our early boat tour the next day. Pizza at mango deli wasn't bad either (made to order) - definitely use their online ordering to avoid the wait. We ate at Snorkels beachside restaurant, visited Mango deli and ate dinner one evening at Lemongrass. We did reserve a car there at the Westin location of O'Connor car rental. Glad we did this in advance as there were no available rentals if you didn't already have a reservation. For our group we probably could have just used taxi service to get to town, Cruz Bay, and the beaches - it would have avoided the lack of parking at the beaches and the fees to park in town. Mongoose Junction is a little shopping mall with stores, restaurants, and Scoops for ice cream. They offer parking while you are at the shops. Our group enjoyed walking around that area. We even ate at the Taproom after spending all day on a boat - just in our cover ups over swim suits while we were in town. The staff at the Westin St John were friendly and helpful. Front desk texting service was fast! Many many many thanks to Shania Dickerson Front Office Agent who helped get my husband's missing luggage from St Thomas airport to our villa in St John. The missing luggage was his fault btw, not Westin's fault but so grateful they helped with the solution. Gigi at the front desk was friendly and helpful also. She answered some of our questions and really help us understand. We had an issue with our folio at checkout. When we discussed it at the front desk, the issue was addressed and resolved quickly and professionally. An additional piece of advice for adults staying in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa - if you are not in the main bedroom then bring a mirror for makeup/hair. The only other mirror is in the 2nd bathroom which made getting ready a bit challenging for the other 3 adults in our group who were not staying in the main bedroom with in suite bathroom and 3 mirrors. We very much enjoyed our stay. The grounds are expansive and did require some walking/steps but there were plenty of golf cart shuttles available to take you anywhere you wanted on property. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Top of list experience
I must say that my experience at this resort was stellar in every way. Reviews I read on trip advisor made me leery, but post trip, I have to disagree. I am a solo traveler over 65, and comfort and safety are top of mind in my choices for vacation. This is a pristine location, within which every staff member from management is solely focused on your enjoyment and satisfaction with your experience. A shout out to Ms Francis who corrected my assignment to a villa without soaking tub, to one that could support health needs, to concierge Eddie who was most gracious, to shuttle drivers David, Ken, Kay Kay, Michael, and others who enriched my experience with their positive, Virgin Islands friendliness and concern that my vacation experience was all good! To Janice and team at Snorkels who made a day of lying at the beach a treasure! To all the staff who labor to keep the villas spotless, the grounds gorgeous, and the resort safe- my deep appreciation for your commitment to this magical place. Best compliment is that through purchase of bi-annual ownership interest I can come back next year. A very special place I will always revisit.

Overpriced
Facility was very nice rooms were clean, good size and very good quality but the vibe around the Westin is very vanilla not a lot of personality. Basically you’ve got a beach in a pool. The staff that drove the golf carts and at the pool were very nice food and drink was unbelievably expensive, no entertainment at night that’s very neutral vibe
