  It will be a great place once the renovations are complete!!

  As a fan of Puerto Rico and a Wyndham Rewards Member, I wanted to provide some feedback on our recent stay at the Rio Mar property from 2/9 to 2/14/2015 (confirmation # 80356EE262254). I booked a Renovated King Ocean Room (on 11/20/2024). On 2/7 and 2/8, I received calls from the resort saying that our newly renovated room had just been completed (we were going to be the 1st to stay in it), but that there was some ongoing construction and that the slides and the children’s pool were near completion. We had no idea from our confirmation e-mails and from these calls that 50% of the 400 rooms were in some state of renovation, that the largest resort pool was closed and that the adult pool was adjacent to the children’s pool construction site with quite a bit of noise during the day. Additionally, the adult pool cabanas were being constructed while guests sat at the pool. We checked into our Renovated Room late on the 9th. The room was nicely arranged and would have been quite comfortable (although we did notice that the in-room safe did not work). At 7AM on the 10th we were awakened by construction drilling noises and when we opened the patio doors, we were greeted by jackhammering around the pool below along with the view and noise of a cement truck pouring cement. We were literally vacationing in a construction zone. We came to Puerto Rico and Wyndam to relax, but this situation was not conducive to doing that. We contacted Eunice Santos about our concerns. Eventually she was able to move us to Suite 6054 on the evening of the 10th, which we accepted since it gave us a decent larger space and a much better view (although not the renovated experience we paid for and thought we would get). Eunice also provided nominal credit to offset meal charges. This room had some additional issues like a safe door that needed to be replaced). We found that this room also greeted us each morning with construction noise as the workers used the hallway outside the room to wheel the construction material to the construction site on the floor (1st thing in the AM and throughout the day). To say the least, not a great experience. As our stay continued, we also noticed that the air conditioner never shut off and the room became quite damp and had a musty smell. By the end of the stay, our clothes were wet from the damp conditions (particularly those hung in the closet area). If the flight changes would not have been so expensive, we would have vacated the property. We tried not to let this ruin our stay as we did enjoy the pool that was open, the beach, 5 O’clock Somewhere, Caicu Bar and the island exploring, but the property condition was very disappointing.

  Juan’s service at breakfast was excellent. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. Location is incredible and we could hear the ocean waves from our private patio. Everyone who works there is absolutely lovely and professional.

  Breakfast buffet amazing! Joanne the best Very attentive and super friendly Will come back just for her customer service because when you are just waking up a friendly personality is something that puts you mind at ease and makes a good start for your day

  wonderful experience in beautiful Puerto Rico

  Enjoyed our four night stay at this beautiful resort. the room was newly renovated and extremely comfortable. We ate at most of the restaurants and were impressed at the selection, quality and the exceptional service! Highly recommend the spa services!

  Great service

  Joel from recreation was amazing. Such a polite and respectful young man. This was my first experience here and you should have more people like Joel. I need this vacation and it didn’t not disappoint me. Joel is very professional and was extremely helpful with getting me of the sun. Yes I am allergic to the suv rays but that didn’t stop me from enjoying myself, thanks to Joel taking time to moving chairs and table to make sure I was protected.
